The spring steel is just more durable.

That's true. You get a better value with a whole kit, concidering what the FK came with. $100 or so more than a T1R, but the list of ugrades looked endless. I want 2 cars anyways. So I don't have to keep switching up my setups between rubber and foam.

Well its official X-Ray has discontinued their T1FK kit and now shows a T1FK05 on their 2005 price list in its place, but @ a street price of $397.80 they may lose a few customers due to heart attack.

This new price represents about a 23% price increase. All I can say is it better include All the extras. Just imagine spending 397.80 for the kit + 93.60 for the chassis + 91.94 for sway bars + 9.50 for roll center holder + 37.44 for spring steel front axles for a grand total of $630.28 not including $60 for tuning springs spares.

The aluminum axles are completly useless in the front they are far too soft and mushroom out where the snap rings secures it when full well turn is required or on minor impact.

My advise is to build the car with spring steel ones in the front, the aluminum just isn't strong enough.

I assume the kit info will be on their site soon but I don't think the post street price info. The price shown are from their 2005 price schedule they recently sent out. The whole 05 price schedule has about a 20-25% price increase accros the board.

Yeah, it's in the dealer's 2005 price list. Named FK05, price like Mark had confirmed $397!!! Holy crap! Dealer's cost (which I couldn't say how much) is more than the current FK street price. I'm hoping they aren't just putting a bunch of FK together and put the XRC chassis and a couple of hopups on there and charge $397!!!

dom....if that was the case...and its not btw....it would still be cheaper than buying an fk and adding the xrc chassis.......like I said on the other post....once you own one...will you trade it for a stock tc4 and 150.00 ????

Well, shouldn't look at it as buying an FK and then add an XRC chassis. The stock chassis is really just becoming a backup hardly will be used item anyway once you invest in an XRC chassis. If a car kit comes with XRC, it shouldn't be the price of an FK + XRC chassis, should be the price of a kit + the difference between the price of the stock and XRC chassis. And even as of right now, no one knows what is supposed to come with this FK05.

Don't get me wrong, once it comes out and if it comes with goodies, I'll probably be first to own it locally when available, but the price is really not cheap.

no I agree its definatly not cheap....but normally you get what you pay for...and the actual diff in price isnt much more than two people going out for a nice meal....everything costs to much lol but we all gotta have our hobbies

as far as whatever chassis it comes with...it probably wont need an up grade....jmo

I cant wait till they actually admit they actually have a new car lol its not like its any big secret any more....if it has a part number and a price...surely they know what they are building.....

I'm speculating the new car would (hopefully)be very similar to the car Josh Cyrul drove at Cleveland and was shown on R/C Car Action. Good thing I sold my FK asphalt car recently, now I just need to get the timing right to sell my carpet car.

Man go to work and 2 pages go by.. Yes I did re adjust my ratios(I have been racing for a while)But on that note I did not change the final drive ratio: IE. The "old" pullys with a monster stock i was in the 7.15 range, with the 1.77's I was in the 7.15 range.I race parking lot type tracks/asphalt.So rollout is not used..at least by me for rubber tires. On the 19 winds, depending upon the "type" of motor I was gearing in the 5.9 to 6.25 final range.

Hobbyshops don't make much off of kits (around $15-25). Most of their income comes from parts and stuff

XXXKat: Do the low ratio pulleys make your drivetrain any free-er? My dad's T1R drivetrain is smooth but it doesn't spin nearly as long or as freely as my Evo2 (with the low ratio pulleys)

True, revenue comes mainly from parts. But on the FK and the new FK05, they make more than just your $25. See if you can get a hold of a dealers pricelist for 2005 and you'll know.
