Hey John,

I guess I helped bend one of those drive shafts on Sun.
Sorry bro.

They're hard to find brand new right now and the FT ones
are even more expensive than the evo 2 or T1R drive shafts.
My jig will straighten both because they're the same size,
51mm.
I never thought about selling the jig... but if the demand
is there and the jig works perfectly than I'll consider it.
Let me get through the design and preliminary build and
test and I'll get back to you guys.
I feel like I'm a part of Orange County Choppers with this
type of work...LOL

just think, you got John thinking on a way to fix axles now. If you didnt help bend them he might not have came up with the idea. Now he might be rich from this. See thats what friends are for

They are probably the cheapest. You can find them cheaper in HK but you will pay close to $20 shipping for them compaired to Speedtech's $7 shipping. Works if you are buying alot more items.

Nope - Xray alum and spring steel is pricy. Steve Wang has some good prices, another place to try is Ashford Hobbies, www.ashfordhobby.com

Yeah RCmonk, you got me thinking about how to fix these darn axles, mostly after talking to Robert @ Ashford yesterday how they're on national backorder from RCAmerica. Thanks for taking me out bud

I got my blocks made and they work awesome.. I had to modify the design a little due to the characteristics of Hudy Spring Steel. My original design was to "Squeeze" the two half of the blocks together with nuts and bolts. This way didn't work and the spring steel axle rebounded back to being bent. My next idea works perfectly. You can see it below. It's two pieces of milled 3/8" steel that's pinned. Wack it with a rubber mallet and it's straight.

Here's pics of the the blocks. They will accomidate any length of spring steel axle. I made up two kinds. The pictures will explain it.

John

Sandwiched together and a few taps with a rubber hammer and it's straight.
