Hi all... I have a couple of questions...
1>Does anybody know what the actual spring rates are for the Serpent springs? I know what order they go in, but I would like to know the pound/inch or newton/millimeter ratings.
2>Is it worth while to put the aluminum lower shock mounting brackets on the front arms?
3>Now that I have the front sway-bar, should I just use that to set tweak... or should I set tweak with the sway bar disengaged, and then connect it, and double check the tweak again???

P.S. In case you haven't realized it yet... This car rules!

Orange = 15lbs
White = 20lbs
Yellow = 25lbs
Red = 30lbs
Blue = 35lbs

I feel the bracket is a matter of opinion. Some like the idea, and some do not.

The front sway bar should not effect your tweak, if it is, it is not properly installed or setup. Check to make sure.

Happy Racing!

Buster, are purple springs 10lbs then?

I have had my front sway bar tweak my car before... but that was my fault for not setting it right. In the instructions it explains how to set it... basically take off the front shocks, slowly lift one tire until the other starts to lift, note how far you moved the tire, then do it with the other tire. Adjust the little cam thing until you lift it the same amount on both sides before the opposite tire lifts.

Has anybody tried the flexible top plate? What have you found with it? I'm on carpet, mod w/ foam right now, but this summer I think it'll be stock w/ rubber.

The new top deck provided exceptional steering and on-power bite into the turns. I was able to carry more speed through the turns. I had to back off the steering via the radio because the car was too responesive at first.

I was running rubber on carpet.

Foam on Carpet? You defitnitly do not want it. Foam on Pavement I am not sure, You may want to ask Buster. I went in there to get ready for the outdoor season and he told me that I didn't need it.

The car is dialed with the original top deck for both foam and rubber on asphalt. The roll bridge improved the rear steering a bit but most importantly it allowed the car to roll a more in the turns for a little more corner speed. The transition from left to right in chicanes was smoother and faster. With out it the car was not fluid enough.

Well it's either Mod/foams, or Stock/rubber is what I'll be running. So, I might as well get it. And if I don't like it... it sits in the box until I find a track where it works.

You know that it us really easy to change.... so if you get it when you run Foams put the stiff brace on and when you go out to run stock then put the Flex-Brace on

Best of Both worlds

Default sway bar

JeffC
Another way to check your sway bar is to disconnect the shocks and rest the chassis over the edge of a counter or up on a stand so that the front end is off the ground. Then press down on the center of the swaybar and watch to see if both sides lift equally. Adjust the cam untill both sides lift at the same time.
