losirob, have you looked at precision's spur gears, I find they fit everywhere a kimbrough fits...and I feel they are a bit better quality to boot...

thanks guys for the suggestions...

i dont see any difference apart from an extra piece of metal (maybe for extra strengh) and the fact that you can't use the roll centre option in the bulkhead

Also does anyone know of a place that has the Ackermann extenion plates in stock?

Just GREAT! I was proud of how not a whole lot of hopups needed for the XRAY, and now they are coming out with a whole lot of stuff to put damage to your wallet. I too don't see a whole lot need for new bulkheads. How much are they going to be? $80 a set???

raving-monkey-look closer-the layshaft is sunk lower-the motors moved ahead and the diff can be lowered or raised and the top deck is lower too. Theres a lot going on there!! You just have to stare at it for awhile!!

Rob
PRS (www.precisionracingsystems.com) sells 64 pitch gears that fit the Xray. I think these are the gears that Greg Hodapp uses.

Yup, Jon is right on on that. But why would you want to raise the diff, raising the COG and extending it? I'm not understanding that part.

And if top deck is lowered, that means it'll have to be used with new front bulkheads as well.

I doesn't look like the top plate has been lowered. The front bulkheads don't look different. The rear diff is lowered but I think you can raise it up so the drive train is more like a 415. Also if you are running low ride height you don't want the diff lower sinse it could bind up the drive train in the rear.

Thing i dont get it why would they switch now to a 1/12 rear axle insert? And i am guessing they are using smaller bearings? It doesnt look like the same size.
I might be wrong'
