keep me updated with your "fan experiment" want to see how well it cools the motor.
Lets see... When I took that picture, the springs were from my carpet setup with foam tires. I was in the process of putting my rubber tire asphalt setting on it.

But, to answer your question, the fronts are XRay 30#'s (light purples) and the rears are XRay 28#'s (violets.)

On my local asphalt track, with rubber tires, I'm running blues up front and whites in the back.

I run XRay 30 wt front and rear.

Hi Everybody!

I just installed the low ratio pulley set in my T1R and found to get the same final drive ratio I had with the old 2.125 pulleys I needed a 20T pinion. The only problem is that the belts rubbed on the motor. I put on a 21T pinion which helped but the rear belt is still rubbing. Should I just gear up some more? I'm running stock on a small techinical carpet track. Any help would be apperciated. BTW here is a pic of my car.

Don't worry about it. The all do it. When the drive train is underpower the belt lifts off the motor. Just run the gear ratio that you need.

You could also run a larger spur gear.

What is the difference between XRAY T1 "Factory Kit" and "EVO2" ?

Some says the Factory Kit is lighter due to thin alluminium chassis but using the newer metal call T6 alluminium ? Is this true ?

The belt shouldn't be rubbing at all. Check for a larger spur gear.

Guys,

was almost at the end of building my factory xray kit, how i was dissapointed in the crap of the shocks that they have in the kit. Why the hell where trhey not aluminium. anyway the f### threads are crossed threaded, i can't see how the adjustab;e shocks work.

does anyone know if they make decent aluminium ones

regards brad

Brad, you can build them either non-adjustable or adjustable.

As far as plastic v's alu goes, it really doesnt make a huge difference as far I have seen, the only real difference could be the strength of the threading on the shock bodies themselves. You always need to a little careful as that kind of thing is usually a pretty fine thread...

Hi, I have a T1R with the new low ratio set, I run 87 spur and 28 pinion (for tight track) and find the belt does not touch, although very close.

If you are running 28/87 you must be cooking the motor. I only use that sort of ratio on a large outdoor track. Indoors on carpet we were risking overheating our stocks on 21/93

Good grief. That's a 5.49 FDR. What is the temperature of your motor when it comes off the track?
