The aluminum that Xray uses is more like 2024 than 6061 the diference is that the color will be darker for the 2024 compared to the 6061 stuff. We did one car in black and one it red and I tell you try look awesome. You also have to nake sure that all the NON aluminum items are removed (setscrews, orings, etc.) Hope this helps.

Very nice. You should post the website or place of the shop that did it.

If i were to get the BMI Xray Chassis would i have to set my car up different since it will become stiffer?? (I am running a T1R) And i hear that the BMI chassis will not perform as well on the T1R than an FK. Is that true??

The bmi chassis will change the way you need to set up the car. As for not performing as well on the t1r that is not true. I run the t1r components on my chassis. The difference between the two is flex. your suspension set up on a car that has alot of flex is not as critical as a stiff chassis. A novice driver would not likely feel the difference as much as someone with a higher level of skill. Hope this helps.

It depends on how the car feels to your driving style........ You will probably switch shock oil weights and or springs. With the stiff chassis you will want to go a little softer on spring rate. If you have ever noticed with the FK , EVO2 , and their 1/12 tc all which have carbon chassis they come with the white springs , but the t1r comes with purple and blue. Its all in how you drive it. I have seen people stay with the stock set up and love it. It also depends on the surface you race on. The only way to learn is to play with set ups. dont try a bunch of things at once because you wont know what change did what. do one at a time and see how you like it.

Neal:

It's a local shop that does mainly industrial stuff. They don't have a site. But it's called Peninsula Metal finishing.

I believe that Horizon had a partial distributorship that is no more. When I checked a week or so ago they were showing all out of stock X-Ray items as discontunied.

Mark, What happened to you Xray in the Main yesterday. Why did you have to switch cars?

The colision that took me out of the 4th qualifier broke more than I thought. I guess I was afraid to check parts I didn't have replacements for, So I did the quick switch to pops car but it was worse than my broken one.

I must have forgotten my luck back at the hotel because I sure didn't have it yesterday.

Mark

BTW how did your race go?

You know how hack fests can be??
And Todd and I had fixation on each others car when ever we got close to each other. one of those time when I don't want tohit another car so much that you cant stop hitting them. Then when some one would pass me, they went trough me to get ahead of me.
