Default BMI vs. Xray

I have heard good reviews of both chassis. I was looking fot upgrade my xray to a BMI chassis or should i get that Rigid Chassis that Xray makes? I heard that BMI has better CF and is stiffer.

I run 19t/stock if that matters. Also its probably not a good time to order anything for xray but does anyone know where i can get some low ratio pulleys?

IMO, it takes a while for others to be on Xray craftmanship level.

So you think the Rigid chassis is better?

I think you should get more opinions. The CF that bmi uses is far better then the cf that hudy xray can even get. you may also want to call and talk to jason, he is one of the best guys to talk to and can give you as much into about cf and the quality and specs to look for in cf

from what i have heard both chassis would make the car handle equally better over the stock chassis. the xr chassy is 3.5 mm where as the bmi is 3mm thick. but since bmi used a diffrent kind of cf the were able to get the same stiffness.

Default BMI or Xray chassis?

Jon - I think the new upgraded chassis from Xray is nice, but the BMI 350 chassis is even nicer.... The CF that Jason uses is very stiff as the weave runs in 3 directions, not 2 like the Xray chassis uses. Jason has IMO the craftmenship level of Xray. His machined parts are amazing and he stands behind his project. if things aren't right, call him and he'll work with you to fix the problem. He's a stand up guy that prides every part he puts out!

Also, you might want something a little different in your chassis? Like a few extra lightening holes around the dif area, or a chamfered battery slot so you do not have to do the filing for a precise battery fit? Jason will do that for you... If you buy the Xray chassis, you'll get what Xray wants to make, which may or may not be exactly what you want. Jason will work with you so the chassis is to your liking before it gets shipped out. Try doing that with mass producing company making parts, they'll laugh at you

He also has colors of different CF. I just saw a gold kit that blew my mind...it looked so cool. I have Agua and Titanium colored chassis from BMI and they look so cool. He does battery hold down, shock towers and CF front bumper holders if you want everything to match your rockin new chassis. Just an order of the main chassis gives you a matching solid upper deck with BMI Racing cut into it. Very trick looking.

Any questions, see Jason or me

John

BMI lays its cf in 0, 90, and 45 degress. XRAY only lays in down at 0 and 90. BMI offers top brace and main chassis for $80 vs. XRAY offers the main chassis only for $70, the new top brace is extra. BMI chassis is lighter so you can distribute your weights wherever you want to. BMI 350 move the cells forward, the new XRAY doesn't, however you can move the left side cells, one slot foward.

Don't get me wrong, I'm diehard with XRAY and seen all the factory drivers cars at the Nats with the new chassis up close and personal, but for the value and performance....BMI got my money.

Thanks John, Seems like Jason will do anything for me if i ask for it. Seems like a real cool guy. I will probably get a BMI Chassis soon either Titanium or Black(if he has it in black). If he has the Front and Rear SHock Towers i will probably get those as well Thanks for the reply John.

Thank you theisgroup, I just purchased Jerry Dean's FK. My patience had run out waiting for U.S. Customs. I hadn't been able to locate an FK, thanks for directing me to this one.
