tom,

Mike had about 20 of the new factory diff, but we have quite a few xray guys that all picked up new factory kits. I think he is out, last I heard. We have like 25-30 xray guys. Part number is 305002. This one will have the 1.77 pulley and 2.125 pully. Just call and ask the guys in the car dept. if they have the diff from the factory kit. I know they have the old one, but you don't get the 1.77 pulley in that kit. Also I know Mike had some carpet towers if that is the front shock tower that he was looking for. If not, I think I may have 2 hanging around. But the 3.5 carpet chassis, i know mike does not have. not sure if those even made it to our shores, at least through the right channels.

I liked that "at least through the right channels" line!.

I didn't realize Qwig would be asking for those types [new & improved/option] of parts. I'm regularly reading that this new distribution network hasn't quite caught up with the need that is out there [go figure, they send an e-mail stating their new warehouse/faciltiy is in the DFW area, and I can't even find shock bladders ]

Thanks for the info...^5

I don't have an xray yet, but www.horizonhobby.com has both the aluminum and spring steel diffs until they sell out and rcamerica takes over. I wonder how outrageous rcamerica's pricing will be...

not quite correct on both counts.

horizon has the old ball diff. not the factory one. And with the factory kit, you would have to purchase the old diff and the 1.77 low ratio pulley set, or the low ration 32 tooth pully.

Also, I don't believe that RCAmerica is taking over, they will be the importer and horizon will still be a distributor of xray parts.

on last paragraph.. but I still find serpent shocks (after that shims added) has stop the leaking completely or if not better than the Xray.

Here's the email from xray:

Sir,

RC America is the new importer and distributor for the XRay/Hudy product line, as well as Max Power engines. There is no plan at this time for Horizon to continue carrying these products. Horizon will sell through their current inventory only. If your shop would like to continue as a dealer for XRay and Hudy, they can contact us by email or phone to setup an account with us.

We look forward to hearing from them.

So much for Horizon. I'm sure RC America will do a fine job specializing in Hudy line of products and models.

Thanks Pyramid but that paragraph you are referencing is specifically talking about the lower part of the shocks leaking which I dont think is a problem. Mine leak from around the cap and the post by Andrew was talking about using extra o-rings between the bladder and the cap. I was just wondering if he is doing that for a performance gain or simply to reduce leakage.

I see, all I could suggest would be to check that you close them tight enough and the bladder sit around the egdes of shock body. In my opinions, either sponge or o ring inside the blader does not have anything to do with shock leaking.. only cosistant rebound.

A couple of you were confused about which "new" shock tower I was talking about...

Click the link for details about the new chassis and new front shock tower. XrayT1FK New Option Parts

It is a little more streamlined than the old one and it visually looks similar to the new rear shock tower that is standard on the FK. More importantly, it has better/more upper link mounting holes for roll center adjustment. It's dissappointing to see them now releasing a better front shock tower...it should be standard in the T1FK in addition to a front roll bar.

Can you push the shock rod all the way into the body of the shockabsober? If it feels like it becomes solid as you push it in, then there is too much oil in there.....this would lead to excess pressure within the body and oil being forced out.
If that's ok, then check like what Pyramid says.

Cheers, Mark.

I can understand the release of a new shock tower - simply a further development of the old one - probably they found that the old one didn't quite given them what they needed. But I find the lack of anti-roll bars in the kit very questionable.

XR-302096 is already standard included inside the T1FK chassis kit on new production batches.
