I would like to add one thing to that list. If you are going to race it you really should think about getting the Alu Essentric Top Adjsutment Mounts. That way you can adjust the angle of the top Arm Shaft holder. I have found this to be a very nice part to have.

I got the Essentric parts as well, but I must confess I that I really don't know how to use them. Any quick tips?

Thanks

1st. position
Front holder in standard position + rear holder with eccentric hole up. The upper arm dives down, which under suspension compression makes the caster go negative (less caster), creating better steering.

2nd. position:
Front holder with eccentric hole down + rear holder with eccentric hole up. The upper arm dives even more than position 1 (above) due to the 3mm height difference between the holes. Under suspension compression, this creates even more negative (less) caster, giving you even more steering.

3rd. position:
Front holder with eccentric hole down + rear holder in standard position. This works similar to the previous two positions.

4th. position:
Both front and rear holders have eccentric holes down. The point of upper arm ride is lower the arms move up more agreesively.

5th. position:
Both front and rear holders have eccentric holes up. The point of upper arm ride is upper so the arms move up more smoothly.

6th. position:
Front holder with eccentric hole up + rear holder with hole in standard position.

7th. position:
Front holder with eccentric hole up + rear holder with eccentric hole down.

8th. position:
Front holder with hole in standard position + rear holder with eccentric hole down.

All 3 above settings give the feeling of an off-road car when both arms move in the same direction and caster does not change when suspension compresses. These settings should be used in bumpy conditions.

Yep, I probably should have mentioned the eccentrics too... I have a set, but I haven't put them on the car yet.

The only thing I changed from last weekend is to go to the new ackerman setup on the new servo saver. I don't want to try the eccentrics until I can see what the new ackerman setting does on its own.

Trophy race today at Bruckners... should be a fun one.

Later,

Trips

Yesterday could have gone better, but I qualified second and finished second in the main. I'm sure i'm not getting everything out of the car that I could, yesterday it felt like I had to really wait for the car to rotate through the corners, almost like the car had a "lazy" feel about it. Donny Lia took the TQ and win, he's VERY fast and rarely makes mistakes.

I've still got some setup work to do, I don't think I'm anywhere near the optimum, but it's hard when there's no permanent track anywhere nearby to practice and work on setups.

Default Is it easily broken?

I was wondering if the t1 is a strong car. The parts are scarce in stores so that means that if break a part then your done for the night until you can order a new part. This is a bad thing about the t1. But is it a strong car that does not break a lot in crashes?

I have had some hard hits with my car.... and on time I used my car as a land missle to take out another car and have not broken anything. If I owuld have done the same thing with my XXX-S I would ahve destroyed the front end of the car. Very durable. The only thing to break on my car so far is my TRC Tires.. the rim cracked but I think it is because the wheel was a reject.

Mike :: Horrible story, you used your car as a land missle?

cantbestopped44 :: Parts on the car will break like any other model. If you want to grade the car, I would say the least likely to break is the PRO2, then the T1, then the Mission, then the TC3 or XXX-S.

The only defense is to avoid collisions that are with in your control. I have broken four steering blocks, one upper bumper brace, worn out caster clips, worn out a two sets of bearings (10x15x4), and have worn out three drive shaft plastic caps.

Sorry to read that the parts are not available in your immediate area. I face the same obstacle with no local parts support. There is a person on this thread (BUSTER) that can assist you and http://www.stormerhobbies.com is also a popular XRAY parts dealer.

Read past posts in this thread for an idea of what to stock in your spares box. Don't let the lack of local support determine your decision. When I was on Guam there was no parts support for any kit! Mail orders kept me running.

If you read my post back about 3 weeks ago you will see why I tried to take the guy out with my car . I would never ever do that on purpose but the guy really pissed me off. The guy should be running in the novice class until he learns to run around the track without hitting everyone as they go by him. In the 10 laps that I raced in that race he hit me 14 times. When we finally were able to bust his car in the third qualifer everyone in the race just missed making the A main and we all Qualified 1,2,3 and 5 for the B Main. I missed the A by one lap because he hit me 6 times before he finally broke.

There was a guy like that two race days ago, and I was in the same heat with him. It seemed like our cars were magnetically attracted to each other. Every time I went to pass him we got together, if I tried to go under he'd swerve into me, if I tried to go around he'd come out. IF I tried to just hang behind and wait, he'd hit his brakes...

The thing is, I really don't think any of it was intentional on his part, I think he was just trying to get out of the way, and it just wasn't working out. Still it was pretty frustrating...

Ok guys, I am supposed to be getting a large Xray order in on the 14th. I would suggest the people that have been calling about parts with no sucess to call on Thursday the 14th, anytime between 2pm-9pm. It is first come first serve, so unless your name is on a backorder you need to call again. I will be away this Friday, and will not return to the store until Monday. However there should always be someone there that can assist you when I am not.

Just wanted to let everyone know.

Buster-

You going to be at The Track on Saturday? How are you guys setting up your cars in Stock? Do you have access to a Magnet Zapper?

E-mail me at [email protected] with the setups because I am not going to have any time to prepare fo the race and want to have a good setup before I get there on Saturday.

Thanks
