i want to know if i buy the new short arm for my Xray T1R i will be able to use the droop screw in the rear with this arm??

i heard that with the T1R and the short arm you have to shim de shock for playing with the droop??

i m running on carpet....and with the tire wear i don t really like to shim my shock everytime!!

You don't need to use shock shims to adjust droop. You can use the droop screws with the short arms. The droop adjustment is very sensitive. Something like 1/32 a turn for 0.5 mm droop adjustment.

Ray,

Just go to the Xray homepage and click on the new car. And look for the download stuff and there are a ton of downloads for the Factory Kit that include the manual, spare parts, option parts, setup sheets and a ton of other useful info.

XXXkat.....what kind of rollout are you running on the car? One of the knocks on the Xray and the Losi are that they are not as fast in Stock as a TC3. In the last couple of years the Xray has been fast at big races.....Tq'd and won the indoor champs this year...won mod at the snowbirds....won mod at the nats. the car can be fast but you will need to find the setup for it. I went instantly faster with the car and it taught me to drive. Went back to the TC3 when the parts issue was going on and I was faster with the TC3. One of my problems is that I dont know enough yet to understand what changes to make and when. I hate the TC3 so I am looking to go back to the Xray. I want a new chassis though. I want to see what will happen with their testing

I think its funny to see how Ray is getting a little greif about the BMI chassis talk. Dont kid yourself.....I had a team driver tell me to my face this weekend that they started testing these chassis when they found out how many of them were being sold. If Ralph was running and Xray chassis then its amazing how much the chassis and top deck looked like a bmi. I for one was a little ticked to see all the unavailable parts were being run on cars at the indoor champs. It is frustrating to see everything they had that I could not get. Now that the Factory team is out....we are talking about chassis. Its obvious by what the team guys are running that the car needs a thick chassis. I know 2 of the guys in the stock A main were running thick chassis and the two guys in mod were as well. One thing nice about the TC3 is that I am running the EXACT same car that Mike Blackstock is running......yeh...you have to spend some time on the diff cases and drivetrain....then mill the chassis to move the batts but then you are done. I hope that the Xray gets to that point at some time. I absolutely loved the Xray and it looks like it is close to being a finished product but as of now it still needs parts that are unavailable to you and me in order to be super competetive.

It would be nice if a company uses production cars and not one offs or special stuff. This way we know that our driving is our only limitation.

I at one time taught as you do about team guys running parts that are unavailable to the public but what you have to understand is that they spend a lot off time on development of parts and make sure that they work before they are releset. some of it works and other times it is plan and simple useless here are some examples
Lopez is running super thin belts in his Xray, man are they nice super slick but when he put a 19T in he broke it, for stock it is terrific but that’s it and you may never see those belts I can see a beginner hitting walls and busting them every run
Juraj Hudys car is nothing like you have ever seen i don't think any parts are ones anyone has seen however he is a test pilot and designer of the car if it works it will available but not till proven

Take the Hpi pro4 when it was tested last year i think it was maybe the year before it was a piece of [email protected]@@ i think it was in the c main it wasn't till all the problems were ironed out that it won and now it is a serious competer

Assoc does have i think still a different hinge pin carriers that changed the anti squat on the car, its something to do with it but i don't remember

and Losi is working on the black belt that is now available but not the bearing dog bones that all the team guys are running

The bottom line is that most team guys are guinea pigs for new parts and they help in the development of new parts after they are proven they are available and if you were racing at there level you would have the same

I don't know ROAR rules at all but aren't cars supposed to be available to the public for a big race like that? Wouldn't that include the chassis?

The rule is that all parts and accessories used in stock classes must be available at least 14 days prior to the event...
