Avant-garde basically means experimental or radical in design or concept.

avant-garde:

- An intelligentsia that develops new or experimental concepts especially in the arts.
- A group active in the invention and application of new techniques in a given field, especially in the arts.
- Of, relating to, or being part of an innovative group.

avant:
- Culturally or stylistically advanced.

The pics look like some kind of TC suspension. I really hope it is a new shaft drive car, because the majority of the performance of a shaft drive car comes from the quality and fit of the parts. XRay parts are of the highest quality and always fit the best of any car. That would mean a perfectly free drivetrain out of the box, unlike othe rcars that require a lot of milling and sanding to get it right.

Even if it is not a new shaft drive TC, the dual belt design is already very freed up --- especially with the 1.77 pulleys. So I won't get too worked up.

well first of all, the barracuda has about the best fit parts along with the xray and its shaft dirve system is amazingly smooth out of the box

and also, as far as drivetrain, you file down a very small, little minor piece on the AE gearbox, and bang you have the smoothest dirvetrain possible

Although a sexray fan, i am building a TC3 for a friend, and would like to free it up. What are the areas to work on?

To free up the TC3 you can get rid of a little material around the diff case, where the bearing sits. This free's it up a bit
