Time to pack for tomorrows race!

what have you done to your xray to make this bad crash?

I tried a tighter line to take first place and hit the end of a board with a slap guard on it. I was expecting to have pulled the suspension balls through the steering block but not rip the thing apart like I did.

The track was very technical. Most of the racers complained.

Hmm...interesting. I just built an XRay this week and raced it on Saturday. Our track has been a rubber tire track but just recently switched to foam. I've been a factory driver for Yokomo for a couple of years now but some things are on hold so I'm getting to play. I built and ran the TC3. Its fast, fragile, and likes to tweak. I also built a XXX-s. Another all around good car. Has issues with roll center and messed up shock design. Its a fast car but the belt tracking and belt material limits its ability to be real efficient if you run stock.

I then tried the X-Ray. I missed the first two rounds of qualifying because I was finishing the car up. I couldn't believe how good this car drove. I ended up winning the A-main with it on my 2nd battery pack through it. I thought the car was incredible on foams. You may want to lower your ride height a bit and lose the swaybars. I couldn't believe how flat the car drives without sways in it. Also, stand the rear shocks all the way up and use stiffer springs, those all should help give you faster cornering speed.

If you are interested in selling your X-ray with all of its extrax, send me an email at [email protected]. Some guys at my track want em and we need some spares too..Thanks

Dave: Thanks for the infor. I don't think that I will sell the Xray. I won't give up on it yet. My setup is close for the track. There is just too many adjustments that you can make so it has to be there. I just can't give up on it yet. I know I just have to find the setup. The Losi setup I ran was pretty good. What setup are you running? I'm probably going to hit the track tomorrow for a tunning session. I'll try that out.
The funny thing is that I didnt' really want to race electric this winter season. I wanted to take a break because since Feb of last year I've been running every weekend nitro and electric and I just needed to take a break. But my competitive side just won't let me quit. Several weeks ago I wasn't planning on going to Cleveland, but now I'm regreting it. Oh well. Next year! Maybe I'll see you at the Trinity Challenge down here at The Track.

Same here about the finish date. What did you answer with about 'what would you like to see XRAY do next?'

Yes.... 1/10 nitro and 1/12th scale. We need some more innovation in the 1/12th dept.... its been lacking a little in recent years!

I asked for a 1/10 nitro. I am not a 1/12 type so I failed you there. I am interested though. I have not raced a 1/12 since the late eighties.

There was a reference as to what could they do to the present kit and I asked for a single belt, centerline battery configuration. What did you answer with.

I think I misread that question!! I ended up listing all the things I would correct on the car. Like the centre one-way, graphite bumper stay etc!

I may have mis-read the question. It was 1 AM when I did the contest.

The centre one-way thing has put a lot of people off the car! After 300 packs my Xray is still not as smooth as my Kawada SV10. Also not many people know that the centre one-way fails very early on.

Just this weekend. I went to the track and some guy there had been spending several hours on changing his cars setting to get rid of the oversteer coming out of the corner. I checked his centre one-way and it was slipping bad! Locked it out and his car was running 100% better! That was just his second day with the Xray!!!
