That is true! I would not want to own that kit if it should present itself to be worth its weight in gold.

In the near future I may be in the market for a new original chassis. When the new chassis arrives I will mill the old chassis to fit the batteries on one side close to the belt. It may be a month down the road before I accept the challenge but if it should perform well on the track I will have a few professionally milled.

I'm just here as an observer, I don't even own the Xray, so I have to ask.....

....are you guys unhappy with the current battery mounting system on the Xray?

I mean I thought it was a pretty good layout.

Ahh... but just think.... you no longer need to be afraid of those GAS cars in a crash because the Xray will probably be heavier than them. We run both gas and electric together for practice on the track I run on!

I use to practice with nitros, I saw an electric pop up six feet in the air and I pulled my car off the track instantly. We now have a 5-minute window for electric practice.

No no no.. they can't do that. It's bad enough that the 'un-informed' call this car a 'Corally copy'... we certainly don't want them to call it a HPI Pro 3 copy.... that would be degrading!!

We even run 1/12th together.... theres nothing more funny than a 1/12 taking out a gas car. Its quite easy because of the sharp front end on the body.... drive into the rear wheels in a corner to lift the wheel and the gas car goes beserk!!

dtm: if it makes you feel better, I drive a Corally and the 'un-informed' at my track ask me is my car an Xray.

I practice at the same time as the nitros at our track. I don't worry about my car breaking, it just doesn't happen. I do lose some of that bravery when the HPI Super Nitros and Kyosho SuperTen's hit the track. Their a little too big to be bumping doors with.

My sentiments exactly! We have the 2wd and 4wd Serpents running at our track and it was a 4wd .21 with the Can-Am body that tossed the electric sedan into the air. That car went straight up and back down from the spot it departed. We now have 1/5 scales running on the track. I saw a brand new Losi crushed into the boards by a 1/5.

I know what is to run SCARED in front of 1/5 cars. Those things are BIG.

At my track they also seem to have no brakes at ALL!!! I was never hit by one of those.

I think that when they allow one of those beasts to run in an electric race, I'll win, because I can't afford to do any mistakes.

But the worst part is when they decide to tune the engine with the pipe facing my neat boxes, packs and att the electric stuff lying around the bench.

That's what makes me really mad.

I pit at the end of the straight so when I gaze upon the track I see +/-50 mph Serpents pointed right at me. This past race they put 2x6 boards at the end of the straight to protect us when the 1/5 scales race. Yeah right! I usually stop what ever I am doing and get on my feet when the 1/5 run.
