Manticore, you should speak to GPM about making a Japan chassis!!! hehe. Understand that the Xray shipments have been delayed due to the problems in the States. Is you're graphite front bumper stay still intact? There are quite a few people out there waiting for this piece!

Has anyone seen a home made rear belt tensioner? My rear belt has stretched but is in excellent condition.

I am going to make a rear tensioner that will not compromise the integrity of the car but will require a longer screw for mounting.

I made a rear belt tensioner. I used a servo mounting block, a set screw, and a tensioner kit from my TAO3. My problem is solved.

I've seen another solution on my friends car. He used a fixed servo horn from the kit and then mounted the bearings onto the end!

Reads very much like what I did. I passed the Bulkhead Brace through the servo block and to adjust the tension you rotate the Bulkhead brace.

But with a 'slim' servo horn you can almost be fooled into thinking it is the original tensioner...... I was for a second!!

USAGI: My way was free! There is still a problem receiving parts in the US. Furthermore, I have not seen them produce the REAR tensioner yet.

If you payed close attention to the front tensioner specifics you would see that it will not work. I count four modification that need to be made for it to work with the rear belt not including the removal of the bulkhead brace. What a headache! My way is very effective using the KISS format.

Also, have you noticed the new features with the latest bulkheads, the tensioner is a void because the new bulkheads are notched to work with the indent on the nylon outdrive bearing cups. That new system allows you to clean up the slop with a stretched belt. It reminds me of a few Traxxas kits that use the same method.

yes I did noticed the new bulkheads, with the HPI style notched piece that does help people who has this problem. Well it looks like I going to have to buy those new rear bulkhead when they are released.

have a good one
