The rumours are that EFRA and IFMAR could well both go to 1350g, presumably then ROAR etc would follow suit.

I'm fairly sure it is proposed at EFRA, we will find out how that goes this weekend. I really can't see any negatives to be honest - for the racers. It's leas load on the equipment and on the tyres. Like Ed says, I liked how the car drove when I tested it as well - feels nice and lively. I tried a car at 1500 for the first time in a couple of years a couple of months ago - felt horrible!
Lighter has to be good IMHO. Of the pure "racing" cars, I don't see many having any issues getting to weight. Getting to weight and balanced, well that one we don't know for sure - blame the manufactures for that one. Tamiya could see this coming, and the "X" has the motor further over in the car I believe. Schumacher also with the Mi4, have given the option.

I wish Roar would go to 1350g. That would be awesome. The less lead I have to stick to the chassis the better. I have to add 63g to my BD5 to get it to Roars 1420g. And that's with a heavy esc, regular body, and a motor fan. Would be interesting to see how new car designs will be next year. Probably just flipping the pulleys around like others are starting to do. Or back to saddle packs... 414 with 416 suspension anyone?

If you consider the 4200 NiMH cells were 470g and the heaviest lipo's are only 300g, we can lose the 150g with at least 20g to spare. I predict light weight lipo trays will be a popular item very soon. Better to take a little more time getting your balance sorted than have expensive carbon fiber/aerospace alloy cars have lead stuck all over them.

The T2 009 can flip the belts OK but I haven't had that as an option as the centre brass weights cannot be used at the same time as flipped drivetrain, thankfully I can get rid of those now.

Looked at flipping the belts, doesn't gain you much room, plus by Nosram speedo wont fit under the top deck.

Almost everyone take it personal "my car hits 1350 easy so I'm happy !"
Brca guys also take the matter like that and they decided to cut another 100 off...
but there is another 70 maybe 80% of drivers out there who has to pay FULL what ever they buy!!!

I think you'll find there are a few of us who still also pay full whack... and can still make it!
Quite simply, it just needs a bit more careful consideration on weight and placement of the cells. Thinking outside that tight little box helps too...

I just want to say that I love this ruling. I don't think extra weight helps anyone, more wear, more cost.
I can get my TC5 down to 1350 no problem, balancing it may be harder but possible, you just have to put some effort, or maybe some creativity into it.

Any local club can run to whatever weight they want, as can any championship without 'BRCA' in the title (like STCC, TORC, BTCC etc). If they decide to follow BRCA rules, aim your moans at that championship or club, not the BRCA.
