I like the Hudy Tech lathe, it uses a pully system, and the drive motor is isolated ( not directly turning the pully that turns the arm ). It was a respectable price and cuts awesome. I have had a Xipp, a Twister and the Hudy. I like it the Hudy the best. Also have used a Fantom and Reedy. I must say I like the Reedy more then Fantom, but the Fantom is a work of art.

Twister lathe ist one of the best ever. Most guys using one won´t change for any other. But as Twister is history there is little chance for getting one.

75 motors a week !!! just kidding . John, as I said, I have "HAD" those lathes. If you must know. I bought the Xipp, and after a while was not pleased with it. So I got a second hand Twister ( very shortly therafter got a smoking hot deal on a new Hudy). So I bought the Hudy and sold the rest. 1 lathe.

TimPotter, what did you not like about the Xipp? I was just about to buy one (the X-MOD Super Lathe 2). I'm not racing at this point; it's just for general maintenance for myself & a friend.

I would get the Carbide V blocks, mine had the bearings, and after while it would just not cut a good comm (IMHO). It was more of a fed up knee jerk reaction then the lathe was terrible. I have a couple of friends that have the Integy lathe and they are happy with it. Like John Fontaine. I am very happy with the Hudy product, and should of just bought it from the beginning.
