That happened with a set of Jaco double purples I had. The rears wore faster than the fronts. Which is weird because the front tires are the ones that see the most friction. I don't buy Jaco anymore...

Monotuning,

I mean the amount of rubber in the tire vs. foam. I know nitro specific tires have more rubber content than carpet foam tires.
