Default Good entry to onroad

I have been into RC for a bit now (8+ yrs) and have built my own brushless X1 CRT truggy, had contless t and e maxx's, revos, etc and want to try my hand in on road... what would be a good car to start with on the cheap but upgradable at the same time.

Thanks in advance for any input.

When you say "on road", do you mean a touring car or a pan car?

Your 1/12 and 1/10 pan cars will be cheaper up front. Easier to set up, too. They're all priced within a few bucks of each other, for the most part.

If you want a touring car, no decent cars are really cheap. The TC5 is one of the lowest priced of the bunch. Parts are easy to get too.

As is suggested with a lot of new people, head out to your track and see what the guys are racing. You'll want something you can get help with, and something you can get parts from your local shop.

Look into Associated's TC4, Tamiya's TA-05, or Hot bodies Cyclone S. All entry level cars, all upgradable, and in the right hands are podium finishers.

Personally I'd stay away from the tc4's and the cyclone s. would'nt waist the time or money. The Tamiya Ta05 is a great car. You can usually pick up a nice used high car for around $200 bucks here on rctech.

Take a look at the Xray T2R 009 this is a budget version of the Xray 009.
A main has them for $289.00 plus they take all the 009 upgrades and parts.
Just my 2 cents

If you are looking to go down the touring car route I would recomend the Tamiya TB03. The car drives great, has a killer laydown front suspension and need I mention the bodysets? Those bodies alone will make you look baller anytime you put your car on the track!
