Yeah, if there had been any hop ups available for the jl12e, I'd have already found them. But that ship sailed a long time before I found out about this car.
Really, the only upgrades this car needs is the electronics. The servo is weak and the esc is junk. If you use lipo batteries, it will burn up. Not sure about nimh's. I have no original electronics in my car.
The only parts I've broken is one axle carrier upright. I have seen a-arms break. So it might be a good idea to get a few spares.

Well we still have plenty of parts for the JL12 in stock here at OFNA, you can get them from OFNAwarehouse.com if you need to make a purchase on parts, too bad the car did not sell well it handles pretty darn good. I had a Youtube vid on it a while back, so I need to look.

OFNAwarehouse is where I get all my jl12e parts from. Good prices and fast shipping. Can't beat 'em.
Oh, and I forgot to tell you that the kit motor is kick a**! I've been racing mine for a year with no problems. Lots of wins!

I tried to order the car originally here, but it was listed as out of stock (after you add the item to the shopping cart):

I was able to order one from TowerHobbies, but you mentioned that there were only 20 left in stock... are those 20 units available even if OFNA Warehouse shows them out of stock?

What is the relationship between OFNA... OFNAWarehouse and TowerHobbies?

I've actually had pretty good luck with the stock ESC in my Nanda NRX-10, it lasted nearly 2 years of racing with a LiPo before it finally went out, I believe it's the same OEM as the JL12e ESC:

Nanda ESC (Exceed DriftKing):
http://www.nitrorcx.com/mad-nh3067.html

Active Hobby ESC (JL12e) :
http://www.ofnawarehouse.com/product...oducts_id=2893

The only problem I ever had with the stock ESC was no adjustable braking... if you try to feather the brakes into a turn and accidentally double tap the brake too quickly, you can accidentally shift the car into reverse and cause the car to spin out of control...oops! I couldn't find any way to disable reverse either

I've definitely grown to appreciate brushless ESC's with 10% drag brake... call me a spoiled club racer now

I used an EZ-run 10t system in my car, I guess you can say its a 380 can with how deep the fins are, my car didn't come with the rtr stuff as we had first got it to run it and overlook the car and the way it worked.

For the inventory in OFNA, you can make a request to Nitrohouse.com in reguards to the car if you want to order from the. I think the deals is a good as Tower offers, and the inventory will go to them until they are gone.

The JL12e arrived in the mail yesterday and my suspicions were confirmed. The Servo has a clear marking on it that reads "Nanda"... so I guess it begs to reason that there is definitely a relationship between Nanda and ActiveHobby, however it's not clear if ActiveHobby is just another label on top of Nanda?

Since ActiveHobby has discontinued the A210SS (JL12e), it would be REALLY cool if OFNA could pick up distribution of the Nanda NRX-12, assuming that car is still in production. It would make sense to me for them to produce it because it shares 90% of it's parts with the rebranded Exceed DriftKing (Nanda NRX-10) sold by NitroRCX. Then having parts support through multiple distributors in the US could be a huge win as folks start buying NRX-12 parts for their DriftKings when NitroRCX goes out of stock which usually happens once every 6 months or so. I've learned to stock pile my parts for my DriftKing as other Nanda distributors (i.e. Rally Legends) tend to price their parts 3-4 times as high... ouch!

If sales for the JL10e ever go stale, then maybe the NRX-10 could possibly supplement it? Having parts compatible between multiple classes of cars is a huge selling point.
