Question guys. I know the front spools are widely used now but I am wondering how the car handles with a front diff. Does it make the car more forgiving? Since you can adjust it for track conditions I am just wondering if it is better (unless the track is just stuck).
Opinions??

I'd be interested to see how well it works if someone puts one of these gear diffs in the front of their T3 with some 200K or 300K oil...

With a Diff the car will steer in a lot better, but because of the potential of slipping, the Diff doesn't always help the car pull out of the corner, where a spool puts down all the power you apply.

i think if you are running it in the rear somewhere between 1k-5k oil would be the answer. I agree on trying it in the front with heavier oil, i hope the seals are good, i always hated leaking front diff o-rings in 1:8 offroad. The inside front can really unload on power around sweepers.
I should have a couple to try in 2 weeks.

Need some input here fellas.
I'm currently in the running a Cyclone TC that I bought sealed and put together myself. I planned on using this car to compete at my local track. Upgraded to DCJ dogbones and the car runs great! However after running a friends T1 EVO2 i've decided that the T3 is a better comp car. Can you give me some pro's and con's with this car and what should be purchased as spare parts?

No doubt a gear diff up front would require some setup adjustments to make it work. 200K was just a shot in the dark based on what guys are doing with the NT1 and I wouldn't doubt we could get away with a lighter oil. Just throwing the thought out there as it could be something to seriously look into. Unfortunately I don't have the time or ability to test these things like I'd want to.
I'm definitely interested to hear any feedback anyone has from testing something like this.

Since we're on the topic of hpi springs, are the all gold spring the same rate as the black with gold paint? It's the same part number but just want to make sure nothing changed when they switched to black. Thanks.
