The heat produced from a nitro car would compromise plastic shock bodies during long runs (though the NT1 uses them too and they have the US Championship... Go figure.) You need to change shock oil every several runs to get a consistent nitro damper...just like most other aluminum "electric" shocks I've used.
Losi JRX-S shocks were as good or better than the TRF ones. They were consistent for months on my XXX-S street basher. Now if they could make them with the clickers. Losi's design with xray clickers would be really nice. I like aluminum shocks, but I would rather have the option to do quick dampening changes. I would never let go of that option go for racing purposes.

Thats impressive. Maybe with a bit more optimization will even be as fast as a TC5!

Sorry if this has already been asked, but has anyone from xray set an official release date for the T3?

I like to stick with the biggest spur gear I can and gear accordingly.
Steve,

Thank you very much for your answer.

I guess you wouldn't be playing with 21.5 motors but they do require rather low ratios (low numbers) especially on twisty tracks. My hint was that perhaps optional center pulleys would go a long way towards covering any FDR at humane pinion sizes (instead of using ridiculous sizes like 52 teeth).

I have found my own solution but I am sure most people would be put off by this.

Sure, I understand as well that Xray may not be aiming their cars at people running 21.5.

The XRAY T3 is already released. The next step is for Slovakia to start shipping the first batch worldwide to their distributers. First shipment is going out the last week of October. Some distributers will get theirs in a day and some others it will take up to 5 days - depends on distance and method of shipment.

Part number is available, therefore your local hobby shop is able to place an order today from their distributer to be on the first batch. Be patient about the price. Price negotiations are still going on in the supply chain.
