TA04-R Tuned Chassis [item 492977]

Hi, Has anyone of you brought the new kit, TA04-R Tuned Chassis from Tamiya ?? I am just wondering, how much it is different from a normal TA04-R ??

Also, Can anyone give me an idea, when it compare with a TRF4141, or EVO3 ?

Is this car worth getting it?? Because i am thinking of getting a middle to High end car to replace my old TA02.

Thanks a lot

Default TA04

I recommend you get the TRF instead, better bargain than tuned, if can find one.

Its a good chassiskit. The difference between de TA04-R and Tuned is that the tuned kit has SSG upperdeck and damperstays, TRF Flourine Coated dampers with the new short springs and the new front stabilizet set (which connects on top of the upperdeck).

Overhere in Holland most drive this configuration in the Tamiya Eurocup Supersport (23T) class, as am I.

The TRF 414 is different in this way that the ball diffs, suspension etc are the same. But the bulkheads are from aluminium. It cannot be compared with the evo3, this is a shaftdriven car.

You can also wait for the new TRF415, which will succeed the 414.

It all depends on your budget. The TA04 R Tuned is a perfect car and is capable of standing up against an Xray. Another factor is the drivingababilties from the driver.

Succes with your choice.

Default TA 04 R Tune

Hi,

The TA 04 R Tune basically is quite the same as the R except for the following difference:

The R Tune have These xtra, and they are:
1) World cup edition stabilizer (Quite useful)
2) SSG top deck and shock towers ( Better than the plastic shock tower on the R and they are also better looking)
3) Short spring on the trf florine coated shocks.
4) Type R motor.

The R will have :
1) A very useful and nice looking Honda NSX bodyshell
2) Graphite top deck with plastic shock tower.
3) Normal TA 04 stabilizer.

The rest most of the things are the same. Both have ball diff all round.

In my country, both cars are about the same price and definitely the R tune is a better buy cos the stabilizer and ssg is already quite worth it.

This car cannot compare to a 414 cos it will not be there yet. I do have to agree with Lee kay liang that a TRF should be abetter choice cos the car have so much more hopups than the R tune. BTW I have both the R tune and the TRF.

Hope this will help you.

get the TRF if you can... then buy the short springs. if you dont have the short springs, your ride height will be too high.

compared to the Evo3.. its a totally different car with a different drive train.

the 414 might be more of a car you can graduate to when you get really good. the 414 has more tuning options and it is the current world champion.

i wont even mention the 415

get the TA04-TRF. its a good car and you cant go wrong with it.

Thanks alot everone.

Because I am in HK atm, I saw the RC car price are much cheaper then in Sydney.
I saw a TA04-R Kit with the NSX body shell is $1280 HKD
and the TA04-R Tuned Chassis Kit is $1480 HKD,
and the EVO3 Suk. Edition is $2480 HKD.
So I think I probably go for the TA04-R Tuned Chassis.

HK is a paradise for buying Tamiya stuff. It can be cheaper if you find the right shop. Try to buy some additional hopup like the front and centre one way because the price is really good. Good Luck to your shopping and enjoy the car.

Default HK RC Shopping

Some of my friends have some good experience in buying from HK too, seems a lot cheaper.

If you can afford to go Japan buy, tamiya price also cheaper.

The front and centre one way comes standard on the 04 trf. It will help you to go faster on straights and more speed on your cornering. But braking will be more difficult cos the car will actually spin around. But it is normal for people to upgrade to the front and centre one way eventually cos for the desire of speed. Since you are in HK, might as well get it ready. Anyway, just my thought. You dont have to buy it if you dont need it. The R tuned out of the box is already a very good car to drive. have fun with it. cheers
