It's ok. The can retainers tend to rust very easy. The only zapper worth anything in my opinion is the tempest. They go for $650 or so...

Rust? How so?
Also, as far as actual results/performance, does the zapper help?
Thanks.

Yes, I know what rusting is, but why/how does it happen with this one and not others. Or is this a general problem with zappers?

Please stay away from the ERP zapper! I used to own one
If you want to get a good magnet zapper, please check www.thunderrc.com. That's the best zapper I've used so far.

Here is a quote from the motor guru...

There were some DC type magnet zappers made years ago. One brand in particular comes to mind named ERP. (Endurance Racing Products). These units were made by a scam-artist who took people's money, either because he knew his units didn't work but didn't care or he was too stupid to know his magnetizers were junk. You still see them once-in-awhile on EBay. If you do, stay away from them.

ok...here is another quote...

The best affordable zapper you can buy that does the job is the Team One unit (about $450). I'm sure you can find their website. Get their gauss meter too while you are at it.

Had one - it's a nice paper weight. Got rid of mine years ago.
