Too bad the P.C. Championships are so far away... otherwise, I'd be there.

I guess this went on long enough..........where is my monkey wrench......
Even I do admit that the pan cars were great ( I owned a Hyperdrive ), but going in circles just gets boring after a while (even with 5 to 6 cars around you) and then you all will try to run road courses, which the rwd pancar proves to be a handfull without decent traction. I say all this 'cause where I used to live there was a high banked tri-oval and all they ran was NASCAR bodies on their pancars. Then the RS4 came out, and poof!
....................no more pancar racing.
Pancars had their time in the evolutionary process. Until a manufacturer makes a chassis that can handle a road surfaces (oval or road course), it will be just as it is now; either collecting dust in the closet or a side street basher. The F1 cars was going to meet the same fate until Tamiya had a brain fart: making them 4wd. Now F1s are popping up everywhere, 4wd and 2wd!
I just wanna see how high the flames gonna get......

GundamWZero- I do not disagree with what you are saying. As the head organizer for the US Pan Car Championships, one thing I will mention is that we arent out to get people to sell their touring cars in favor of pan cars (heck I have a TC3 in my dorm room right now that Im dying to race), what we ARE trying to do is to show people that pan cars (both 10th and 12th scale, but especially 10th) are still a great class to race. There are still people out there that pull their RC10L2s, Switchblade 10s, HPI RS10Gs, Speedmerchant Roadkill 10s, etc. We are trying to get more people to pull their cars out of whatever mothballs they may be in and give em another go. That is what events like the US Pan Car Championships are all about. Now I once again say, that I do not disagree with what you are saying, Im just saying that Im gonna keep right on working on this event, because there are people out there that want to run, and I can't let them down.

Glad to see someone online .....................
I thought about what I said, and I am not exactly right either. I'm a total RC nut: 5 cars(one is gas), 2 unbuilt cars, 2 helicopters ( and a electric heli on the way), and a motorcycle! I been in the r/c hobby since I don't know when! Right now the only RWD cars that is popular is the Mugen, and the Serpent touring cars, I believe. I think that if you can design a pan car chassis with the suspension setup of a touring car, then the RWD class may be ressurected. I found it difficult to drive my 2wd Hyperdrive on a simple road couse without spinning out all over the place, but put it on a banked, oval course and it stuck like glue.

FYI...
I race my pan car, CRC Pantoura, every weekend at my local track. It is quickly becomming a very popular class. Especially when people see how fast it is and that a few of us can turn faster laps the TCs. I think that if people just try it they will like it. Yes they are not as easy to drive as a 4WD TC but that is another aspect of the class that makes it desirable.
BTW I am planning on going to the race if finances allow. I am also trying to get my hands on a HPI RS10G and parts to race there.
