Default M8 won't turn off!

It just stays on. The screen and everything stays on, but the light turns on and off. It still transmits and everything, but the only way to shut it off is to pull the battery out. Help!

Did you ever drop it or try to use it as a HAM Radio?

It may be best to contact Swana/Airtronics directly.

There's a switch that says "display" it sometimes gets bumped and you won't realize it's on. It's so you can access the radio without really turning the radio "on".

I've had that happen to me.

I'm not too familiar with the M8. Is it a electronic "button" that turns the radio on and off? If so, you'll prabably have to send it in. If it's a "mechanical" slider switch, the contact might have become disonnected from the little slider switch thing. I've had this happen to my R1, except it was stuck in the "off" position. If your confortable with taking it apart, it could be a very easy fix. Maybe just requiing the contact to be slipped back into place on the plastic slider, or maybe a small mount of contact cememt to make it stay on the slider. But I would only take it apart if your convortable with doing something like that. And when you do that, talke your batteries out so you don't accidently short something out w/your screw driver if you should have to take out a circuit board.

The M8 has a switch just above and to the left of the wheel marked "Display" that lets you see the display and make changes to the programming without actually turning the transmitter on and sending a signal.

Check to make sure you have this switch off.

He might have the signal switch engaged along with the display switch too, that will do it.
