This has been one of my biggest complaints with racing on carpet. It's also the one of the main reasons I don't race on carpet as much as I do on ashpalt. Our local indoor track only allows foam tires, and they sell them for $22 per pair.

My second complaint with foam tires is that they easily become damaged. If they weren't so expensive it wouldn't bother me as much.

Geppeto,

Like the Sig! Drive a tuned Audi A4 avant myself.

Why don't you have a talk with the owner of your indoor track to allow rubber tires? Maybe on raceday he can make an extra class for touringcars with rubber tires.
Over here we mostly use TakeOff CS27's on the indoor carpet tracks, though i must say that i like 1/12th far better. This is only because those little cars are so blindingly fast on carpet.

Usually, when you buy several pairs, the shipping rate stays the same or they charge you like $1 for each additional set.

yeah, i've seen every other brand in the world sold for 10 bux, but i have yet to see jaco/trc purple, magenta, or plaids for that price. none of the "exotics" or dual compounds are ever cheap. and 9/10 of the amain drivers will have either trc or jacos on, so i'm not about to start using sythetic foam rubber until this changes. that's one variable that i am not ready to mess with yet.

and i still refuse to believe that the "exotic" compounds are anything but ordinary, inexpensive material.

Only 2 company's in the world make foam suited for our use. One is in Japan, not sure of the name, but they have a brand named "Banzai". The second is in Italy. This is where Jaco and TRC are getting their sheets of rubber from. Now I can't see those Italians sell that stuff cheaper to a HK based company then say to TRC or Jaco. You guys figure it out why its cheaper in HK.

but since hk dont have grey rears for 12th, i just reuse the rims and order donuts! its still very expensive, but its worth it...college student gotta save every penny possible!
hey do you have a larger pic of those cars in your avatar? They look really sweet with that paint job.

I have never heard of a place in Japn that makes the foam we use for R/C use. I do know that Italy is the main supplier but there is also a place in North Carolina that makes the foam too and I believe that is where Jaco gets their foam from.

I don't remember the name of the company but if you have a tax ID number you can place a minimum order. I think a min order is like 15 grand.
