Guessing TP didnt have cameras or anything there to check? That sucks. I am guessing the Thunder Power guys are pretty upset about this too happening on their property and all.

Hi Everyone,

Well I was not expecting my first post after the IIC to be in a separate thread about a 2nd time nightmare. After last years horror. I never imagined that it could get worse.

The trailer was locked up in a secure gate off site from the hotel. I had thought that this would be better than sitting in the open lot at the hotel. I was mistaken. We had packed up the event on Sunday and loaded it in the trailer. We had everything in there. PA System. Numerous computers. 4 monitors, 2 AMB Scoring boxes, All of Paul Lemieux RC gear. all of Jamies personal tools. Doug Hay's Betta Bright and computers plus all the tires, motors, ect, ect, ect. 5 years of equipment. I cant imagine all of our stuff just getting rummaged through and then chucked in a dumpster.

I am in contact with my insurance company to see if or what is covered, but Aaron said, you never come out ahead.

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes and I pray that some how I can come out of this. We were able to overcome the blow from last years Trailer robbery and I will pray that we can also some how overcome this.

Thanks again to everyone for their support of the IIC and I will keep you updated as things progress.

Thanks
Scotty

WOW I'm in disbelief that it happened there. That is crazy.

Scotty and crew that is terrible to happen once now to happen a 2nd time is a nightmare.

I would think they would take one look at Jim and run the other direction.

Seriously though I'm really sorry this has happened again a 2nd time and worse. I know you guys can overcome this but I really dont know what to suggest for next year. I guess drive the trailer back straight to WI after it is loaded.

I hope you guys get enough back to replace at least the important stuff. Damn that sucks man.

Anyway, what if we were to start a fund to replace the stolen items? This should help to at least get the ball rolling.

Scotty,

I havent raced at TS much, but I know very well how hard you work at these events and Trackside. It sucks that stuff like this has to happen to good people so often. Is there any hope of the cops tracking this down? or are they pretty much resigned to the fact its gone and time to move on?

Having delt with my house broke into before with lots of items stolen. The first reaction from the insurance company was that they only wanted to give me a depreciated value of the items. I didn't think it right, so I had to ask them alot of questions, and finally figured out that if I purchased all the stolen items and supplied my insurance company with reciepts and proof that I previously owned those items. They reimburst me within a week. Try asking your insurance company that. Should fix most of your problems, plus it's brand new equipment you will have.

Next year, we will have to get your stuff locked in a trailer, locked in a warehouse with security. We will work it out. For now, everyone in vegas is looking for you gear.

why wouldnt it? you see the transponder counting, ask the guy to look at his car, spot a little black transponder instead of a big red one. Easy.

I can't beleive the Riviera is that piss poor with security that you can't even leave a trailer in their lot with out anyone messing with it.
actually, a casino has some of the BEST video surveillance outside a Federal Reserve bank -trust me I know, I work for a casino...

you'd be amazed where casino's put camera and how well they can zoom in

That post I made was pretty much irrelavant since it did not happen at the Riviera. Their security really was of no help last year though when the trailer was stolen, so I still stand by part of my comment.

I hope Scotty can recover from this. It's surprising that RC trailers get broken into so often. We had our local hobbytown's trailer stolen, our club's trailer had 2 attempted break-ins in the last 2 years. Maybe enclosed trailers are just looked at as easy targets?

any way, hope these duche bags get caught.

good luck Scotty and crew.
