Personally I think it was someone at the IIC that was involved....which really sucks. Scotty even made an announcement at the banquet dinner about the trailer being broken into last year. He mentioned that he had a new secure location for this years trailer. This was my first year at the IIC and I want there to be more. But if this keeps up I don't see how he can afford to keep putting on this race!

Really sorry to hear that someone putting up that kind of effort to make a great event gets that in return.

As far as the comment on "alternative"...only those with zero moral fiber would even consider it an alternative. That kind of attitude can be rationalized clear up to "I was out of crack, and had to make ends meet".

So this trailer... was at a hotel in Vegas. Doesn't Vegas has more cameras per Sq Ft than any other place on earth? Wouldn't the hotel have video of these ass hats raiding the trailer?

I thought Vegas, especially on the strip was considered to be one of the safest areas around just due to the incredible security presence at these establishments.

I hope Scotty's idea of a "secure" location wasnt off premise of the hotel, and that there is some video or images of the assholes in question taking the loot. If they knew this trailer was a target, would it be so much to just hire a private security serivce to have someone camp out over night and just keep an eye on it or just ask the Hotel to keep an eye on it?

I wanted to post this so that people can get the word out and start keeping an eye on the boards and such for stuff to pop up for sale. I hope that its not an RC racer that has done this to Scotty and the IIC Crew......but who knows with people now a days.

Well my first guess would not be a racer or anyone associated with the race. I would suspect an "inside" job in the sense that loading dock personnel and those associated with event planning knew when everything was removed and when was the time to strike!

There is just no excuse for this--- s**t people are just S**t people and all we can do is hope that they some how recieved (or will recieve) severe bodily injury--- permanent misalignment of the spine and a future riding the short bus!!!!!

I do not know where the trailer was parked but I could see camera's mounted on the light poles in the back -- I just hope the hotel is forthcoming with the video and does not do what all these big corps do when these things happen--- play ignorant!

This sucks,

The camera's in the back lot apparently are pretty worthless since they were of no use last year when the trailer was stolen out right. They would have been better off parking the thing on the top level of the garage where they could block the doors with the walls of the garage. Even then the asshats would find a way to get in. I guess the best plan would have been to put it back in Thunder Powers gated lot after it was loaded, but that may have been an inconvience since they are across town somewhere. Valet park the trailer next year and make them watch it the whole time we are there!!

Security was sure on it when they didn't know about us truing tires out back Tuesday evening. Scotty and the crew put on a great race and really don't deserve anything like this happening, especially twice in a row.

This smells like an inside job...someone with r/c experience and with the cooperation of the Hotel and its security staff.

How could this happen twice?

Oh well, they don't call it sin city for nothing

I am VERY sorry to hear about this type of thing happening... having had a similar experience occur to me several years ago I can feel for Scotty and the entire race crew.

I hope that the Hotel can help bring those responsible to justice.

I would highly recommend that Scotty look for another hotel to hold his race next year... having two events of this magnitude on successive years is just too much to accept and perhaps another casino would be more interested in the security of its guests than the current venue...?

I know the hotel cannot be responsible for the actions of the city's residents... but this is pretty outrageous and I don't think it's too much to ask to have a little bit of added security presence in light of the last few year's events.

Good luck to Scotty and everyone else who had a part in the loss... if there's anything at all that I can do to help please feel free to let me know!

Sorry to hear. Maybe someone sleep in the trailer with a shotgun next year? Oh also, have a wireless video cam in the trailer, with the reciever and tape backup system in a car parked nearby?
