Brushless/Brushed Motors - Speed/Battery Life Differences

Hi all,

I'm wondering what the main difference in speed and battery life is when comparing the two together.

For eg, I have a 6 turn brushed motor. I was looking at buying a 5.5T EZRUN Brushless System. Will the brushless system run faster than my current setup? Will I get longer battery life?

Thanks

anyone?

I have run both before and this is what I noticed.

The 6 turn brushed was a tick faster for about 2 runs.
The heat produced by such a fast brushed motor quickly went to work on the magnets and brushes. Even after a good rebuild it was never as fast again, and the 5.5 keeps going and going. Even when both are new the speed difference is so little it makes no sense to go with brushed.

And for the record I had that brushed motor about 2 years ago, it lasted about 15 runs with rebuilds and new brushes every few runs. I recently just sold the 5.5 still as powerful as the day I got it.

Thanks a lot for the response. I already have the brushed system and I was thinking about getting rid of it for a brushless system. I want more speed out of the car though, so I may need a 3.5R or a 4.5R motor, maybe the Novak Velociti with a GTB.

I would go with a Mamba Max 7700 combo. Saves you alot of money and you will be amazed by the speed. It can also take more abuse than any Novak.

Almost forgot to mention. Any brushless will have tons more runtime compared to a 6 turn brushed.
