Default Looking for a Porsche.

I want to get into on road cars and I want a Porsche. Preferably a 911. I want something that can handle brushless power.

Any suggestions?

Also, what BL system would work well for the recommended Porsche?

as in a porsche body? the best handling onroad body is the speed 6, from most drivers' opinions.

Im looking for either a kit with a Porsche body available, or a specific Porsche kit.

u can buy any 4wd touring kit that'll be at home with brushless and lipo power. hpi makes a gt3 rsr type body that will fit most all of the cars. also sell some more realistic rims to make ur ride what ur looking for.

i still have 1 in fact. perhaps i can slap it on my xray real quick and take a pic to give u an idea.

Awesome.

This will be my first on-road so I dont know about any cars so Ill have to look around.

Would the Tamiya TT01E be any good or would I be better off getting something else?

I recognize the name Xray. How are they quality wise and is there a Porsche body that will fit them?

Thanks,
Coby

I think I may go all out and get the Xray T2009. That would be a good choice right?

Also, what electronics should I use for it?

Ill get a DX3+rx, but what else would be best for this car?

depends on who u ask. xray stuff is a lotta coin. and really should be at home on a racetrack. if ur not into racing or only a casual visitor to a track. then its prolly not for you.

the E is a fine car to play around with. looks very scale. would be a real inexpensive way to do things. i wouldnt go beyond 17.5 brushless. the thing with me and the tt01 and brushless, is that i dont think even the E has enuff gearing options to utilize brushless. it would be undergeared quite a bit and that does ur motor no favors.

a better plite would be to go score a tc4 or a ta05. and if no 911/934/996 etc body is avail (i know tamiya has 1 or 2 or 3, hpi does etc)....then find that kit u want and buy the body. paintin it how u want.

Very nice.

Would the XRAY T2R Pro 1/10 Racing Electric Touring Car be a good platform?

If you want a porsche that looks like a porsche you should check out the Tamiya models.

Don`t lett the hpi guys fool you. :P Tamiya makes the most realistic bodies.

Xray is not for beginners.

You should look into either a HPI, Tamiya or losi chassi.

I was looking at that Tamiya one. Are you suggesting I just get the body or the car too?
Is that Tamiya model very good?

problem with tamiya is that their body sets are $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ compared to every1 else.

honestly i did some lookin, and the tt01e is not really a good brushless platform. low on space, but more importantly short on gear options. and if u bought a hot enuff motor that required the shorter ratio it has, most of those will systematically destroy the drivetrain in short order. really look at a tc4, cyclone S, or close to and slap the HPI on top. u'll be very happy and can race if u like.
