Is this CRC esc available over seas? If so where and what's its called. I would like to order one.

The differance between electric and nitro guys is very simple. Nitro doesn't spec itself.

I race electric and nitro and prefer electric but it does drive me nuts with all the break downs in the class. 17.5 13.5 10.5 mod expert novice foam rubber.........

This a great thread. Just would love to get my hands on that esc.

ok, guys.. he has a point here. I think if you take a minute and really read what he's implying - not what he's saying - you'll get it.

i think the question should be if this should be allowed in the future. i do agree that they found a way to work within the current rules. but if we do not look at rules to build a box around what a speed control can and can not do. I think we will see a decline in racing just due to cost. each vendor will have a new way of producing power and it will just escalate. I know several people in the automotive industry and some in the defense industry. does that mean that I should go to them and see what "new" technology they have for hybrid cars of electric drones?

it there are no rules as to how speedos work, then they must be legal. bravo to finding a way around a rule that does not exist. as i said earlier, there is no rule in the roar rule book that would prevent me from running a 3.7v lipo as a main power source and inside the speedo step up the voltage to 7.4 before it passes through the speed controllers motor controll circuit. at this point, that would be a legal speed control as far as roar rules goes

I raced at the iic and day one i had my doors blown off. I didn't bitch i wrenched. i was a solid 8 tenths off. I ran tekin and never ran the same profile twice, we tested more setups than i have in months this past week. In the a main i was only 2 tenths off hot lap in 17.5 12th. If anything it just made us work hard on setup. I think they should let it run. Only way we will continue to improve. I am not a sponsored tekin driver i bought mine at my local hobby shop but i got the same help as the pro's

Dawn, your water pipe analogy is dead on. In fact this is how it's described in engineering school.

Wow! HUGE PIC...

As far as the "prototype" ESC -- I WANT the pros to test these things in MOD (and MOD only) at big races like this... The alternative is to sneak them into local "club" racing where the effect is to squash the little guys. The other alternative is for the manuf. to release them before they are fully tested and let US test them -- no one wants that.

Technology changes -- get used to it. When I started racing in the late 80's the best ESC's were bulky "low frequency" rigs that were hard on the 40degree timed (stand up brush) "stock motors" we ran with the super hot 1200SCR (NiCd) batteries... With the "freeze the technology/stop the evolution" thinking, we would STILL be racing that combo -- anyone like that idea?

Does the speedo work with 7.4 or is it just 1 cell optimized?
