I can't wait to surf the internet while I'm racing through my linux-based cracked ESC

I personally love technology, and any advancement seems good to me.
If this is a big enhancement and it's legal, this ESC or similar ones will hit the market soon.

Don't forget that the first interest for companies isn't "winning races"... it's "selling stuff and make money".

Second, we're discussing speed controls here.

Brushed motors are history. Deal with it.
In actuality he's not 90% off.

But he's still way off with the motors.

The speedo's may be an issue.

Agreed, although if they just made it running off the RX I think that will quickly be fixed and made illegal.

Software based ESC that can be update are what I'd buy.

The "pro" guys that have the access to this speedo won't be racing in the 17.5 class.

I see you don't know the NY racers very well.

It seemed pretty far off to me aside from the speedo being important with its software. Things like torque/power seem to be solved via timing/gearing and not different motors. The rest seemed to be stuff no one was ever claiming or extreme examples (like something being indestructible, nothing is).

I don't know what battery is being used for the RX, but it looks tiny and with small wires to me... I doubt that sucking power from that little thing could produce much advantage.
The "booster"-"voltage enhancement" theory seems more possibile to me.

Default The point is........................

Not about whats better or was..... Point is we are back in the same exact boat as before...... Nothing has changed.

Changing Brushes went to changing rotors
Motors still have a heat issue
You need more than one motor
Yada yada yada....

And yes, here we are with the speedo issue....Again

Point is: "The more things change, the more they stay the same". Kinda ironic lmao...

Oh yeah, fuel guys dont have these problems, still lmao!

Since myself, Chicky, nor Goetz weren't at the event and haven't seen this "black box" in person, we're not going to make a decision on it right now.

If it's within the rules, and they've found a better mousetrap, then all the power to them. Just like some 12th scalers had exotic foam tires from overseas in the past, giving them a huge advantage.

If there's some kind of bypass thing going on, then I'm sure it will be taken care of.

With your first race a month away, it will be interesting to see how many people show up with them.
