Default ROAR Regional Races

Does ROAR still hold regional races or just national championships?

I have never seen a ROAR regional on-road race in region#7.

It's up to your Region to set one up. If you have a local track that wants to hold a Regional race, then submit the request to your Regional director. If they do not respond back, then go up the chain of command. Our Region has not really had one in years. But our local track submitted for one and we go it.

ROAR will Sanction a Regional as long as an affiliated tracks in the region steps up to hold the event.

Same here for electric off-road in Region 11. What does ROAR do or not do to make the track owners not want to apply for the race. Back in the 90's is was a big thing the tracks would fight over it.

Can't speak for everywhere but the two regions I've run at both had poor attendance. The problem is not the tracks wanting to put on the event, the racers must step up and be willing to be ROAR members to race a ROAR regional. My local track has held several ROAR Regional's both off-road and carpet roadcourse, amazingly enough, very few locals competed and you only see the regional guys you typically see at a larger event.

As racers everone needs to appreciate what ROAR does for the hobby. Everyone likes brushless and Lipo for the ease and less longterm investment. Even those tracks not running ROAR rules still have a basis in the rules. Imagine what the industry would be like if there were no guide lines governing how often things are approved or safety limits in place to protect the less brainfull. Manufactures would be one upping each other, pushing the durability and safety envelope and to be comepitive you'd be buying the latest of everything each month.

So ultimately it is up to the racers to entice the track to seek a ROAR Sanctioned event. Do a head count how many ROAR members or those willing to be are at your local track. If you host it the out of towners who normally travel will show, how many locals can you add to the mix?

here in region 11 area we've been pretty lucky to have one every year in on road for carpet and gas . we work with the tracks as well as the racing clubs in the area .personally i think you should have to run your regional race. to qualify for a nats!! this might bring some more excitement for the national level races vs. screw the local seen and supporting your region . through this we could possibly help build some of the local seen back again!!!

I wish I could attend a regional race. The last Regional race we had was back in 2006. Then people started complaining that the same track had held it for 4 years in a row. Now we have no regional on-road races and the LHS that did hold them will not hold them anymore due to the complaining and also cause the cost. The people that complained now wish their were regional races, but they won't put up the time and effort to hold them. So those of you who still have them, don't complain about them, just be glad you still have them.

FYI, Roar Region 12's On-Road Electric Regional Race will be held this year @ Ripon RC Speedway (former Reedy Race/Roar Nats site) in two weeks, September 24-26.

If you're anywhere near northern Cali, come out and race with us. The more the merrier...

Check out the front page of rcracing.com for details.

ROAR doesn't pu on region races. As was siad it's up to the tracks and membership to get their tracks to want to sanction a region race.
Here in region 12 we've been fairly lucky with electirc on road paved and carpet nats almost every year for the last 10 years. We also had quite a few fuel on road races.

As was postd earlier. Ripon RC Speedway will be hosting the Region 12 Electric On Road Championship, so if you're a region 12, 11 or 10 racer make you way on out. Here's a link to our flyer Region 12 Electric On Road Championships
