Talking Helping gearing up or down????

I have a T1 with 112 spur gear and I just brought 30 tooth pinion gear. It runs very smooth. The motor just warm after 5 min run, but the ESC is a little hot, it is a LRP Comp with no heart sink. Should I gear down the tooth or UP? I want to get a little more trough. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Try a smaller pinion. Did you say you do have a heatsink on?

well try putting a heatsink or a fan on first. And when you change the pinion go 1 or 2 teeth at a time. not 10

I always thought that if the motor was hot and ESC cool then you were running too low a FDR, if the ESC is hot and the motor cool then you need to gear up as you're over-revving the motor.

If this is right then you need a bigger pinion, not a smaller one.

If I am talking @rse, please ignore me

Thumbs up Thanks

Thanks. What about motor and ECS has the same tempura, When I run 26 tooth and 122 spur gear, But If I run 30tooth with the same spur ECS will be very hot and motor is just hot not as hot as the ECS. This is without heat sinks and fan on the ECS. I want to keep the tempura low before adding a fan. Thanks again.
