Need material for sponge tires

Hi all, I`m new to this forum.
Does anybody know where I can get sponge material for tires (the same one that is used for making 1/10, 1/18 car wheels. I have a lathe so shape isnt that important as long the piece is big enough for making tire. I would like to make tires approx 30-32 mm dia , inner dia 20 and 20mm wide. I need this for Losi Micro-t for which I cant get decent tires. I was using bicycle handles but they are too soft and need something harder
Any help will be greatly appreciated

You need to buy the right thickness's and then glue the layers together to create the proper width. Then use a hotwire, or a waterjet to cut out the donuts. Once you have made the donuts, you mount them on the rim, and use a tire truer to bring them to the proper diameter.

Good foam is expensive, so make sure you are ordering the right type of foam.

Shawn.

You might want to ask around the 1/8th scale gas forums. Not sure if too many are still mounting up their own tires or not, but some of the foam "donuts" used to be sold with the centers (donut holes???:p) still in them. I remember guys gluing a bunch of them together to make things like car stands. I've drilled out the center and used them for 12th scale fronts in the past. Worth the ask.
