60mm was what I'd calculated everything at so thought 6mm ride height was OK as a starting point. I've got 5mm of ride height adjustment down from there so can maintain 5mm ride height with tyres down to 54mm

Not sure that is enough? I've not build anything yet so can start again.

If you're at 10mm RH with 64mm tyres then to get down to 6mm RH you'll need to true them to 56mm (4mm off the radius so 8mm off the dia).

That doesn't leave a lot of foam left for outdoor running. I'd have a look at raising the rear axle.

I've been starting my rears at 62mm and they look usable down to 54-55mm.

I really am stupid sometimes. Thanks for that. I keep on visiting the VIP website, if there was an add to cart button I would have hit it by now.

Back to.the drawing board and parts box.

The VIP is fantastic. The pod is the best I've seen. Easy ride-height adjustment over a large tyre diameter range, and a really solid design. I've seen other brands strip spur gears due to the pod/mounts tweaking and moving around. These cars take some big knocks outdoors at quite some speed.

V-links also seem to work well, again very strong compared to the tiny side-links most GT10s use, and traction is fantastic.

If you've got the IRS axle, Tobias will do you a VIP that will take that. Then you just need a front end and some shocks off a GT10. I agree the website is very basic. He'd sell a lot more stuff if he had online purchasing, but maybe he doesn't have time to meet that level of demand. If cost isn't an issue and you want the strongest, fastest car, I'd go with a VIP.

Try emailing [email protected], or Tobias Weist on Facebook messenger.

VIP Vorlon drawing.
This is the older car but still a very good kit.
I am running a custom chassis with no front suspension plate and the chassis can be used with shorty and brick size batteries by just changing the battery holders and top plate.
This one has also a rearpod that is designed for the IRS axle offset

Anyone happen to have a Mon-Tech MF 10 Pan Car 1/10th 200mm - Asphalt body they are looking to sell? Been trying to find one in USA and no luck. Plenty of the carpet version but not asphalt. Either that one or the team Saxo body. Not a big fan of the RJ speed body.

will the protoform swift-235 work on an
Xray x10 that is only running 200mm and not converted to 235mm yet? Will it have too much overhang?

Yes, you are better off converting it to 235.

“Yes” too much overhang or it will work lol. Might convert later but not sure how much I will run Pro-10 vs WGTR. Just trying to find a body in time to run the protoform race at Steel City at the end of the month.

Yes, too much over hang and If you are running the Protoform Cup you definitely need to covert it to 235 for that big track. 235 will have advantages over a 200mm.

well that is the plan for future but for now I can’t seem to find the Fenix conversions in stock anywhere so it’s 200mm for the win lol.
