Pro 10: 235mm Le Mans Prototype Pan Car Discussion

No way we can run after touring guys. In a democracy majority rule...
One hour before means waking up at 6:00 AM!!!
I have proved to apply additive at home and to get the tires ready for the race the night before racing but I think this makes the tires softer with time and unusable...

Democracy rules but a little giving and taking/understanding for another group so they can have a good time as well is another matter. Anyway...sure way to kill a class imo.

We used to cover foam tires with a silicone layer for running on smooth indoor cement; it worked great. I never tried a pan car like this but we did do it on 1/10 gas on-road cars and 1/10 offroad trucks; I still have a set for running on the street that haven’t peeled in 10 years! (I don’t run it much but the silicone is still there non the less) I don’t remember what brand it was but there was a few that would last forever and give great traction. That’s something to try if you have an old set of tires laying around.

Capped tires generally give less grip than a good foam. They also have to be warmed up to work properly. They might be a solution if your track is always dirty.

I thought you use special rain tires for rainy conditions

In the rainy conditions the tamiya caps on pro10 tires work very well but the caps are long gone and only a few stores have them somewhere in the basement if your lucky. They don't need full wet conditions to work but the more it rains the better they work.
The Kissling tires are rain tires that only work in full wet conditions with a layer of water on the circuit. Anything else and they degrade very easy and won't work good what i have heard from M7H.
It depends on the rubber that bsr is using on their oval capped tires. I am not sure if it is the sort of soft rubber that we want in the rain as the rubber in dry conditions is usually harder. It is purely an assumption on my part.
The video is already posted but pro10holland proved that racing in the rain is a lot of fun and really works very well with tamiya caps.

Do you guys put anything on the bottom of your chassis to protect them from scratches? I have an almost new RC10LS chassis and I want to keep it nice as they're not easy to come by!
2wdrive, is your top pod plate an off the shelf item or did you have it made? I would really like to buy one! I really dig your car, I stare at this picture a lot for ideas!
