If I had a track like that close to me, I would be so into getting a TC. The whine as they go by is crazy.

I am in northern Westchester NY (around Armonk). The closest offroad tracks are 1 hour away (long island, NJ, CT, Brooklyn). Does anyone know if there is 1/10th scale outdoor/indoor onroad racing in my vicinity?

Masami has been racing for like 20 years. I remember him as a kid.

I can't drive.

But then again, this seems like comparing myself to Matt Hoffman back in the day. These folks are just on a different level.

Touring car is super expensive. I know I have over a thousand dollars invested in my car. The bulk of it is mostly in electronics, just so I can stay competitive. The rest is in tires, spare part, and bodies.

Just go into VTA, RCGT, or Mini. Much cheaper, just as fun and fast (VTA being a slight exception), and you don't need the best to party with the best.

TCs are not as popular as they used to be, according to Magazines and even Derek B from Extreme RC. Mainly because it has become REALLY expensive.

I love watching Sushi boy get beat in style!! Masami is a force to be reckoned with. Sushi Hara is probably breathing easier now, since the main competition is retired. Such a shame.

Well the cars don't "whine" like that anymore, that was back in the day of "Brushed Motors".

Since we use Brushless motors currently, at full RPM are still quieter than the entire drivetrain and that lustful electric whirring noise has just about disappeared.

That truly IS the best TC race ever. Rheinhard is just plain awesome.

I was going to mention this video as well as a better example of skill than the first clip.

Don't beat yourself up though. Most of us don't race on tracks such as that and our cars aren't that closely matched. On the other hand Atsushi and Masami drive with stick radios too which I think requires even better skill.

That been said, I have seen people at our club race like that.

I hate to go off topic but does anyone know the air temp and tyre type for that race?

Actually, you do have a track like that nearby. How's central New Jersey sound? It's bit closer than Europe.

Sorry, only one uber-champion in this race, but he does get hounded by a gaggle of national champions!
