Looking at the CRC site there are 2 pics of the body off and the Center Shock is mounted with cap up and then the other one is cap down.

What is the reason/difference from running the shock in either direction?

Thanks

It makes no little to difference imho when there is no air in the shock, which is 99% of the time with the encore shock. However if there is air in the shock, it would be better to have the "top", or bladder end of the shock higher, so the piston is not passing through the air in the shock. There are also small clearance issues to take into consideration depending on which shock end you use, the height of your battery, and whether you run the battery front or back. There are some combinations/instances where the shock can rub on the battery. I would suggest someone find a position they like and stick with it. I inadvertently switched the shock on one of my cars and almost didn't catch myself adjusting the center spring tension the wrong way because of the opposite shock orientation.

I'm not questioning Michael's ability, I just want to see someone else's nicely wired GXL...

Are there pictures of the GXL in that thread?

That conversion is almost exactly the same as the chassis I recently made (pics a page or two back)!

What I have been working on now though, is the chassis holding the LiPo down the length, rather than across and a one piece crossbrace that goes with it that is shaped to hold the end of the LiPo in place. The idea is that you can turn it over depending on what side of the chassis you want the LiPo to sit on.

It's a ROADCOURSE, there is no wrong direction. Several of the tracks on the F1 calendar are anti-clockwise..........

As consolation to the "clockwise" purists, I'm thinking of running the Oval backwards next year, lol.
