Default Battery ???

Is there a definate advantage in using a 1s 3.7 lipo w/booster or w/receiver pack over a 1s 3.7 lipo saddle pack in the Gen XL or in general for racing? Is the weight difference significant? Is there a difference in performance?

looking for a complete asphalt setup, all I can find is "use the stock one" is that still the way to go?
I could also use gearing/esc settings help, and tires, lol

track: Speedworld 100+straight Asphalt

esc tekin rs pro

batt: TP 40c 1s

motor Duo1 13.5

LiFe recv pack, not a booster

Thanks for any help!

the saddle pack is meant for tbar cars. the genxl is a link car. i havent seen one but i imagine the saddle pack to be like 2 pairs of subc batteries.

i guess you could use it on a link car if you swap back and forth with your tbar car, but no other advantage.

If you use the saddle packs you can prob. take the batts out without having to pop the shock off every time

makes sense, but how would it be to tape them down?

they would prob. be easier to tape down and hold better since each section is lighter.

I just got a GEN XL and now I am looking for some tires. I have run jaco and rc4less tires in the past but I would like to try the CRC PRO-CUTs but am not sure about how there compounds go (softest to hardest) is there a list of the different compounds and how they rank softest to hardest some where?
Thanks for your help

At the forward shock mount, I'm using a metric hex screw, an Xray hex ball and an Xray ball joint so I don't have to pry the cup off the ball. Works well, lasts forever. Thanks, Jacko!

If you're familiar with Jaco's nomenclature, CRC's is similar. The only differences are Jaco's orange=CRC's Grey-Low, and Jaco's Double Pink=CRC's Magenta. Aside from that it's pretty much the same.

I generally run Yellow rears and Magenta fronts.

Default Servo ???

I am trying to decide between 2 different servos. Futaba S9650 & Airtronics 94819.
The specs on the Airtronics is 1.26 x .63 x 1.26, .92oz, 33oz/in, .07/60.

The specs on the Futaba are 1.4 x .6 x 1.1, .9oz, 63oz/in, .11/60.

Airtronics stated that the 94819 is the new replacement for 94141 & 94145 (noted in the GenXL instruction manuel).

I see most are using the Futaba. Are the specs on the Airtronics acceptable?I also notice a little size difference. Need to know if any alterations would be needed to make it fit?
