Well unless the Australian body puts forth a bid to host it won't happen, even then you'll be lucky to get the worlds if you're not in Europe, Asia or the USA.

It would appear that FAMAR has "given up" their chance to hold the worlds?

I guess after such low number of participants at this years WC (1/5th, 1/10 EP off road) they have decided there was no need the trouble, spend money, loose time preparing for the event if noone will come again

As far as crime, this is ridiculous. Unfortunately, all cities are very dangerous if you don;t know where to do! I don't think that SA, Brazil, Argentina or anywhere else in this continent there are no areas that are safe for tourists and don;t think that organization will use hotels in crime areas!!!

I believe it's just an excuse for the real reason which I don;t know!
For me if I could afford it (time wise, money wise) I would go

this is some funny stuff....

EFRA will have the event. Their AGM is later this month and a selection will be made then. Nobody will know for at least a month or so and that is after IFMAR (which by the way consists of the presidents of the four blocs) agrees upon the selection.

Basically, South Africa was the original location and it was removed from consideration for MANY reasons.. none of which have been stated here. FAMAR did pass on the event in this rotation and the next bloc on the schedule (www.ifmar.org, click on schedule and then rotation) is EFRA.

So... Pato.. wait a month or so... it'll be announced.

Actually EFRAs AGM is 1st of November so I'm sure by 2nd we would know which country will host it

I know that France wanted to host to 2012 WC (based on normal program) so I guess they will still be candidates and I heard that Switcherland (Lostallo) might request
