Default problem for lithium?

Pilots union wants cargo ban on lithium batteries

Big problem for the RC community if this gets out of hand.

Notice the word 'bulk'. It'll be a problem if you're carrying 100 lipos, but other than that there's no problems associated with travelling.

Perzactly. If all Lithium batts were banned, the businessmen of the world would flip out for not being able to bring their laptops.

I wouldn't want to be a businessman from China trying to sell a batch of lithum cells to the EU countries via an aeroplane...

Airline passengers are not allowed to pack loose lithium batteries in checked luggage. Consumer electronics containing lithium batteries are still allowed in carry-on and checked luggage. However, passengers are limited to two spare lithium batteries in carry-on baggage.

Better to read all of the article.

Looks like we are still safe

Install the packs in your chassis, pack the loose packs in a different bag.. If it is really a problem, dig out an old Nimh battery box and 'install' them in that, and put that in your check bags.

There are plenty of ways around that one. When it's law, then worry about it.

I have traveled some in the past with my RCs and even with NiMh batteries TSA agents interpret the regulations differently almost every time I travel. Things like this will only make things more difficult in the future.
