Default radio & receiver compatability q's?

I am currently using a JR radio system. I want to get the airtronics M8 radio but not sure if the jr receivers are compatable with airtronics. Do you just have to use airtronics crystals with the jr receivers. or is anything compatable with JR?? need to know so i can order a radio asap.

Default Radio & Receiver compatability q's?

waterboy;

1) The Transmitter and Receiver MUST be on the same frequency (27mhz, 75 mhz, etc) and the same channel #

2) The "Shift" of the system MUST match. (i.e. Both TX & RX, must be either positive or negative shift.)
Hitec has a new RX that has "auto shift" and will change "shift" based on what TX is being used.

3) In general with 27mhz, crystal brand does not matter.
For 75 mhz, the crystals usually must be of the same brand as the Transmitter.
There are some instances where the RX and crystal brand must match (consult the Radio manufacturers site for more specific details).

thanks for your help.

do you know if jr and airtronics have the same shift?
if not, then i would just need to use an airtronics crystal w/ the M8 and in the JR receiver use a airtronics crystal??

Thanks
