Ah good, so Corally just cheated then. Their car is absurdly expensive anyway...

On the subject of tyres, I'm looking for some rubber for my F109 for general outdoor use - any suggestions? Pit Shimizu seem to be substantially cheaper than HPI Bridgestones and a few other brands. I'll likely get them from HK.

My bud uses ride med/soft on his 109 and is having good luck.

I have run the trg med/soft outdoors and in the right conditions they work fantastic, a bit spendy to get them shipped to the us though.

hope you're feelin' better JD-- so ya can make it to Papo's blast-many 109's in the field.Kenny and I are stickin w/foamies for a while.Would like to try rubber-but$$$$ gets in the way;and I still have lots of foams to burn.
Papo ordered some hard ride fronts to try--the meds are a touch too soft.

Just got my kit yesterday
the one with the brushless combo.
To my surprise the esc is so small. Bet it will fit nicely in the kit.

Anyone order this combo from rcmart before?

Just had a quick look at RCMart - The Yeah Racing Brainpower 25A looks like a rebadge of the Hobbywing Ezrun 25A. I have this ESC (in my crawler, hooked to a brushless outrunner - huge torque!) and it is indeed quite small, especially without the fan (mine came with none). It would work well in the stock F201 chassis too - not much space for an ESC there!

Lightbulb

Tweak Free F109

Wonder if it's possible to retro fit the BMI flex plate system from their Copperhead 12th/10pan cars?

One note of interest, I am VERY EXCITED to announce that Alpha RC F1 has signed on to sponsor the F1 exhibition class at the Champs this year!!!

Any commercially available F1 Chassis: Alpha, CRC, Tamiya, 3Racing, Cross, Kyosho, HPI, TRG, etc. is eligible. It will be a 210mm max width, foam tire, 2-cell Lipo, Handout silver can class. Looking at the F1 threads here on RCTech, it should be KILLER!!! Can't wait!!

Got it! - probably trying it out for the first time at the Swedish Open F1 series next weekend in Växjö. Unfortunately no time to make any pre tests, but what the heck ...
