Here´s a little movie on my F1-09 with Tamiya F104 front suspension, Tamiya F104 sidespring mod, Speedpassion body and some worn Tamiya rubbertires. Running HW Extremestock (blinky) and a Tekin Redline 21,5.... This is my first time out with the "F104" setup.

Wow - congratulations that looks really good on the track. I loved my F109 when we raced foams but always found it lacked a touch of steering. Think the longer wheel based over F103s was at the heart of that, and assumed it would be worse with rubber tyres.

Top work

Questions??

Anyone else tried using longer links on the rear?... I tried and can't say I've felt any improvement and just wondering if to persevere or go back to the standard links

I can't tell if there's à differens in handling, i mainly run it in the long setup beacuse there's more material around the forward hole... Sen people breaking the chassie at the hole when running the shorter link...

I am running longer links because chassis broke at rear hole after one crash just as Gillblade mentioned. I see no difference.

Hi all, new to the forums. I have an F109 (bought the last and only one I could find on the internet from Australia) and love its handling after upgrading the side springs. Just wondering if anybody has a good source for replacement parts, or if just looking for F103 parts is the way to go.

You can use F103 and F104 wings, so no problem here. You can also use F103 front without any mod. Many here use F104 front mod to fit width restrictions.

There is not really much to break.. with original front end its the link connecting arm and ball end and few people here break rear side links.

I was considering the F104 front end swap, but wasn't sure what other parts would be needed besides the arms and turnbuckles. Do the original knuckles and springs mount right up or do they need to be swapped too?

not sure if this is complete list, but check this post http://www.rctech.net/forum/9222962-post1556.html
You will also need shorter turnbuckles and i think 5x10x4 ball bearings for F104 front rims. I suggest to buy also F104 servo mounts as mentioned in linked post so you dont have to cut anything.
Check linked F104 manual.
