3racing F109
#1816

I have a question for the f109 owners and looking for honest opinions. I'm currently running a fgx with the rabbit chassis conversion and I am right on the rear tires of the fastest f104 at our track. My question is would the f109 perform better than the fgx rabbit on a high traction technical carpet track? I can drive pretty well and finish in the top two in our f1 races. I was just wondering if the f109 would give me just a little push over the f104 I race tire to tire with every time we run.
What started to bother me was stock F103 Lotus 99T kits blowing me away. So I dug out my 15 year old F103 and it simply had more turn in. I think the longer wheelbase of the F109 means it doesn't rotate as well. Worth trying a stubby 2S cell in different positions to see if it helps - we think across the chassis would help (and it does fit)
On a tight carpet track I'd still go for me F103...

I raced my F109 on a medium traction carpet track over winter. Set up right it was pretty quick, and I didn't have to move away from the stock tyres.

Does anyone have the instructions for the 3racing out tuned ball diff?
#1826

The 3 Racing out tuned ball diff is just the complete diff kit for the tamiya f104.
It is similar to tamiya's aluminum diff housing for the f104/f103.
3 Racing's product looks to contain a couple more parts and is about $10 or so less than tamiya's product, at least on TQ RC.
For use on the F103/F109, item 54162 (f104 axle) must be purchased as the axle needs to be shorter.
So if you have a f104 rear axle, just follow the directions in the f104 Pro manual. You can download it from TQ RC Racing (www.tqrcracing.com).
I have the link to the F104 Pro manual for you:

I'll try to see if I can find my copy of the instructions...

Not quite... the extra parts are to allow the diff to be tuned from outside without needing to pull a wheel off, while still having the ease of changing tyres without disturbing the diff like the F104 pro diff
I'll try to see if I can find my copy of the instructions...
