Team Associated TC3 is it worth it?
Im looking to get a new chassie for VTA racing and it is a TC3 I currently use a Xray T1R and its starting to become a problem. not enough room for electronics. alot of distance from the electronics so alot of wire hanging around. I was told with the TC3 parts are becomeing hard to find (old chassie not alot of parts) would I be wasteing my time buying this old of a chassie the price says take it but the headace might not be. Oppions please

The TC3 is so slow you best sticking with the T1..... ok mabe slow isnt the word but its not as good as the T1 by any means....

Im not woried about speed its the wireing on the T1R that is the problem there is such a lenght of wire all over the place ill ge a pic on soon but its bad and I dont know what to do. I could mount the ESC on top of one of the Lipo pacs since it uses a saddle pack that will save alot of mess but will that cause interfearance. I dont see many people mounting things on there batterys

Wow that is ugly (LOL). It is worse than the wiring in my 1/8th scale electric conversion and it uses two lipos.
TC 3 would be a lot easier and it uses in line battery. There are lots of aftermarket chassis available like graphite, double deck, etc. Many of the
TC 4 parts will interchange. I ran a TC 3 last season in our local touring car nastruck class with rubber tires. It was competitive. There are a lot of hop up parts available also.

A TC3 is a great car. I shop at a few different hobby shops and they still get parts for them regularly. Tower still carries parts for it too. If you want to race on the top level mod classes you may struggle unless you can drive very well, but for spec classes and bashing these are the best cars to own, period.

Parts aren't that hard to find. Alot of the TC3 parts are the same as the TC4. My LHS has a bunch on the wall. Yes, it is an older car but there are alot of them in VTA.

i run a tc4 and parts are very easy to come by. i like stormer hobbies or lapartshouse.com. even the top racer in our vta class uses a tc3
the saddle pack is not even a year old.

I run a TC3 in RCGT class. It can be made to handle ok, but the suspension arms ,hinge pins, etc are too fragile. TC3 Parts are also not cheap. For example parts for a TC5 are cheaper and stronger, rarely break. I planned on retiring my FT TC3 soon.

The TC3 is more then enough car for RCGT or VTA. The cars works, parts are easy to come by, and with the limited amounts of traction, it seems they do not break that often.
The TC3 I have setup for RCGT it is as fast as any other car on our track.

Not true for TA, which is what we are/he is racing this chassis as. For 13.5 and 10.5 sure, its not quite as adjustable, but brushless doesn't seem to have the torque steer issues. I'm not sure who's car you are looking at to buy but next time we're at the track, look under the body of the black GT350H. That's a plain jane Factory Team TC3. My son's yellow camaro started life as a TC3, but has been updated to FT parts over time. The winner of last years Hurricane race at RCP was a plastic tub Tamiya TA-05. Old shaft drive cars seem to be just fine for TA.
