Im considering buying this servo, and there are so many conversations im confused lol. If i don't have an fet lead on my servo, i can directly hook it up to my positive battery wire? im probably wrong, and please correct me if i am. and jms, i have a novak fusion esc, and im pretty sure this doesnt have an fet lead, (again correct me if im wrong). Thanks for the corrections and clarification!

Nope, the fusion doesn't have it, but you were correct in saying that you can hook it up directly to you battery's positive lead.

Let me know if you have any more questions,

Just thought I'd add my 2 cents since I started this thread. I've been using my 2113 in my B4 buggy for 3 months now and never had a problem in the slightest. While a 1/10th electric buggy isn't the harshest environment for a servo, it definatly hasn't had an easy life and it still performs like it came outta the box.

When I tried putting in the metal gear set from the 2123 the gears either didn't mesh right, or I did it wrong, because I kept stripping the only plastic gear left in like 1 movement of the servo. I put the plastic gears back in and it worked just fine....

Seaball: I don't think I agree with you about the specs making the servo seem faster than it really is. I have both a KO 2123, and a JR 8450 and the 2113 feels 100% equal to either of those to me. Maybe I'm not sensitive enough to notice the difference, or there was something not right with your servo... but either way IMO the 2113 is the best bang for the buck servo that I know of.

I guess if you run the futaba s9550 at 7.2 if would probably be faster than the ko2113 but wouldn't you be risking damage to the s9550 running it at 7.2v ? I have a s9550 (@6v) as well and in IMO the ko2113 seems faster. Still the ko2113 seem like a very good servo tho.

the ko 2123 digital feels much quicker and snappier, despite having the same specs. after a few runs, i quickly regretted spending the $58 and i sold it for a loss to a fellow racer.

is it worth the $58? yeah, to many. to someone who is thinking that it is a worthy competitor to the ko 2123, air 94757/758, or jr 8450 digital servos, you will likely be disappointed.

Had some time today and decided to swap out the original plastic gears for the metal ones. Everything went pretty smoothly except for two bearings. The fit of the bearings on the main output gear were a little tight but I managed to get them in. Somehow I thought that all the gears would be metal but one of the gears still remains plastic after the transplant. Anyway, I am pretty impressed that all it takes was an additional $17(metal gear set) to get an awesome KO servo. Guess I'll keep the original plastic gears as spares. Thanks for the information and a great deal guys.

Here is a before and after pics of the servo.

It remains plastic because you would have too much glitching if all the gears are metal, its like that in all metal geared servos. Metal geared, not all of them are metal, hence the name.
