(Feeling like we are in a 1st grade argument ) Well, I'd rather be able to take mine apart MYSELF and fix it. No sending in for me!

But, I do agree with you that .1 - .3 isn't noticable....UNLESS you are a PRO like me (Just wishing...lol)!

The part # for the metal gear set is 35514 17.50
The part # for the plastic gear set is 35518 3.50

I ordered both so I had an extra plastic gear just in case.

I guess KO Propo must have a huge supply of the PDS-2113 servos as they still had them when I ordered one last week. Also ordered the metal gear set from the PDS-2123 servo. Had some time today and decided to swap out the original plastic gears for the metal ones. Everything went pretty smoothly except for two bearings. The fit of the bearings on the main output gear were a little tight but I managed to get them in. Somehow I thought that all the gears would be metal but one of the gears still remains plastic after the transplant. Anyway, I am pretty impressed that all it takes was an additional $17(metal gear set) to get an awesome KO servo. Guess I'll keep the original plastic gears as spares. Thanks for the information and a great deal guys.

Here is a before and after pics of the servo.

kevin,

the specs can be deceiving. an analog servo doesn't process the signal as fast as a digital. i used this servo for a few weeks. it was too sluggish for me. my futaba 9550 acutally reacts much faster and i estimate it is somewhere around .09-.08/60*(i run it off of 7.2v)

the ko 2123 digital feels much quicker and snappier, despite having the same specs. after a few runs, i quickly regretted spending the $58 and i sold it for a loss to a fellow racer.

is it worth the $58? yeah, to many. to someone who is thinking that it is a worthy competitor to the ko 2123, air 94757/758, or jr 8450 digital servos, you will likely be disappointed.

Well, you are correct that it doesn't produce those actual numbers because it is not digital. That is the only reason. All those servos you compared it to are about double its price and all digital. If this servo were digital, then yes, it would be just as good as those.

I am not sure about the exact specs, but it is really close to what they say. It really is an amazing servo. If I had to guess, I'd say it is about a 0.08. I still don't think you will notice a difference between this and a 0.06 though.

rcguy - that is a complicated thing. it does perform to the specs. if you look at how fast the servo horn moves, it's lightning fast. but... i think that it initiates a command later than the digital counterpart. i don't know this, but it seems a logical deduction based on my findings and the literature that is out there about digital servos.

i know when i put in the futaba, all my turn ins were way to early. i used the same horn and geometry for the linkage. it took only a few laps to iron that out, but it was much snappier. for me it is essential to have that "accuracy". i term it that, because the digital servo allowed me to wait longer to make steering inputs. for me, less anticipation=more accurate changes=better consistency. i would not go back.

also - the futaba that i speak of is really only $75-80 at most online stores. the others are more.
