I hear ya Ryan. I was just saying that if in fact the wheels mounted with no hexes at all are still over 190mm then I think it's probably not worth the effort. Reading your post again I see that this is what you were saying in the first place. My mistake.

Any suggestion about gear ratio for a 20T stinger motor? Currently, I have a 32/75. Thanks.

microcrazy24 - I emailed rctvlive and their answer was that it would be online and on the network within a week. He did not give me a specific date.

ok first I really liked the body that they used on the show. is that good for racing? after seeing the show I went to my hobby shop to order and the guy at the counter never heard of the car. Anyway the guy in charge said he would order it so I should have it in a week. The car REALLY looked nice for the money.

I have been running mine in practice a couple of times on carpet with HPI X-pattern tires and it seems to handle real well. I like it so far.

One comment, there was mention of some folks having issues with torque steer. I've had this myself, the car would pull right when hitting the gas hard.

The issue is the front center drive cup flexes down just a hair, causing it to rub on the steering rack and drive it right. Simple to fix, little work with a file and the rub is gone.

Hi guys,

I run and sell these cars in Australia (under the OEM Hong Nor brand) and am looking at narrowing the car to 190mm to make it legal for touring car racing by getting aluminium suspension blocks made with narrower pivot points for the arms. However the machining workshop only deals with minimum order quantities and will churn out a set of 100.

Would there be any interest in getting these? If so please PM me to register interest. I am awaiting a quote for the 100 sets so will need quite a few to confirm interest prior to proceeding with the order. Of course I will ship worldwide from Australia at cost.

Thanks,

Steve

Would this require a shorter dog bone/cvd?

To be honest I'm not sure. But prototype blocks are being made and the car will be raced to see if there is are binding issues etc with the standard dogbones. Obviously if new CVD's are required also then it becomes more expensive again, and prehaps not worth it.

I would order some of the battery retainers. I am still running NIMH stick packs. Some fit very tight length wise, but the ones with a little space in the battery space can fly forward and break one of the pieces. But, if I had a smarter driver driving my car, I could put a little foam piece in there to fill the gap. That's the only part I've broken.

Has anybody tried the Kyosho hexes? They seem pretty slim, and I just haven't had the chance to drop the 5 bucks to try them.

How's everybody doing with their JL-10s? Going to be going back to doing lots of practicing for the ROAR Region 12 race down here.

Even with the hexes removed and the wheels pressed against the drive pins I understand that the car is still over 190mm. At that point it sounds like the wheels start to bind, so the wheels would also need to be modified. RyeRey521 reported this a few posts back.
